If it's already on the internet, and has been for weeks, chances are that some kind of web crawler has picked it up. If you just posted it then you may have time to remove it before it gets cached and indexed.

On deviantART there is no way, that I know of, to block Google (or other search engines) from indexing your page or artwork. Your best course of action is to remove it as soon as possible and hope that it falls out of the search engine results within a few months.

If you own a website you do have the option to create a robots.txt file that tells web crawlers to not index your site. DeviantART has a robots.txt here.

Here is some more information about robots.txt and how to use it: support.google.com/webmasters/…

Do be warned, though, that not all web crawlers will look at the robots.txt file on your website and will index your site regardless. Ultimately, the best way to not have your content shared and indexed by search engines is to not post it online at all. Once it's online you have no idea how far it could go.

Google does allow, in very rare cases (think credit card numbers and child pornography), you to request a removal. You can get information about that here: support.google.com/websearch/t…

On top of using robots.txt for your personal website, you can put your content behind a password-protected wall.

To late, once it's on the net it's in search engines, there's really not much you can do. If you take it down, after a month or two it should cycle out of most search engines assuming it's not re-posted somewhere else. If it's up on the web, there's no way you can get it out of the search engines, there here to look for stuff.

You could write to Google. I believe they have a system for that, but you're seriously wasting your time. Once something is on the internet, it's pretty much there forever and the more you talk about wanting to remove it, the more attention you bring to it.

Also, there are other big search engines than Google. You're not going to stop people from finding your stuff if it's anywhere public.

For DA stuff there is an option in your settings to ask google not to crawl your page.

the internet is forever (as long as there is electricity, at any rate). If it is slanderous or puts one in a bad light, and one lives in the EU, one could ask for references to oneself to be removed from google's search results.

The surest way to not have your "stuff on google search" is to not post any stuff.  :)
