The Cold HourI want to fall asleep and be gone
So this wretched day can be done
I want the voices to cease at last
They too whisper about the past
        Nothing to fill the cold hour
        It's waiting there, to devour
There are no dreams to be had this night
I lay awake and wait with fright
The voices are still calling my name
They know exactly who's to blame
        Nothing to fill the cold hour
        It's staring with eyes so dour
And when the morning finally comes
I wish I too could greet the sun
But it's up high and I'm far below
Stuck where the forlorn people go
        Nothing to fill the cold hour
        And in the darkness, I cower  EvanescentOnly those we care about
Can get under our skin
Only soil that love has touched
Can grow the seeds within
Only what we see, we trust
Weighs not what lies beneath
Only when it turns to dust
Then can the truth be gleaned
Only when the time has passed
Can we see what was ours
Only when you view the past
You truly see the stars
Only when the reaper calls
Do we remember time
Only when the casket falls
Do we know what's inside  After The RainThere was a garden, once lush and green
Flowers abloom like you'd never seen
As if in paradise you had been
But there was a black rose with a thorn
All feared her since the day she was born
As all she would do was sob and mourn
All would shy away and shun her home
She felt even worse, being alone
If only she had been free to roam
One day she thought to pick up her roots
She willed to be a tree, bearing fruits
But she was hit by everyone's boots
She cried and cried up into the air
But no one could hear her silent prayer
All the other plants would laugh and stare
And so the small rose seemed black as oil
She had been growing in filthy soil
But she did not foresee the turmoil
One night there came a dreadful storm
Pools and puddles of water would form
But afterwards came a day so warm
Some flowers died and the rest with dread
They turned to look but she was not dead
After the rain she was now bright red  The Last MidnightWhen the night falls and the moon calls
I start walking, you I'm stalking
My beautiful queen of the night
When the stars sing, of their longing
I feel the same, seeing your shape
Your aura a halo so bright
    When can I touch you?
    Will you reach out too?
    This time it is true
"When the night's here, I feel the fear
Insides churning, questions burning
Is there no way out of this fate?
When the stars cry, up in the sky
I feel hunger, pray for slumber
What will provide me an escape?
    The nights are too long
    I am not that strong
    What did I do wrong?"

It is beneath you to so weep
Blessed power, midnight's hour
What do you wish, in your anguish?
Surely not the eternal sleep?
    "Take my life away
    This of you I pray
    No more can I feign"

Makes me wonder if you have a home
Some place to go before the morning comes
Somewhere to hide from the evil sun

I know you're there, I can hear you breathe
I feel the blood pumping in your veins
I wonder if you know the game you play"
  Please take me

  "Please don't ask
  To wear this mask"
I see you stalking your next victim
I wonder how it is you picked him
I wonder how it is to feel your bite
Your sharp fangs on my supple neck so white
"I'm a predator, at nights I hunt
You don't want to be there for the brunt
Of my attack, for I am not gentle
Your obsession is detrimental"
  Take a bite
  I know no fright
    "Stupid little girl
    You know nothing of my world
    Foolish little child
    You don't want this curse of mine"
    I am not a child
    I know all about your kind
   Bleeding ThroughI'm sorry if I'm bleeding through
I'm sorry if my blood stains you
I'm sorry if this snake bites you too
This wound runs deeper than the skin
It's tearing through, somewhere within
I feel your fangs in my flesh, sink in
  These scars
  Like stars
  A constellation on my skin
  This pain
  In vain
  A consternation from within
But it was you who made me bleed
You who planted this evil seed
Out of malice or just plain old greed?
  This night
  This fight
  The dawn will never come
  This light
  Too bright
  Will be salvation for some  (What A) Broken WorldWhat a broken doll you see before you
Eyes have fallen, mouth sewn shut
What a broken mind for one to wade through
The wounds, bruises, scars and cuts
What a broken lady behind this mask
A mask too heavy and long
What a broken voice that utters too fast
If only you'd hear her song
  This doll is broken, frozen
  Now she is screaming, dreaming
  This doll is sleeping, slipping
  Into another world
  Won't somebody wake her?
What a broken fist with which she has fought
Bones shattered, fingers like claws
What a broken truth for one to have sought
Every word twisted by flaws
What a broken sorrow for one to feel
These emotions bound and tied
What a broken future for one to see
Darkness here, devoid of life
