This is coming from someone who watched the movies but don't really remember much: It would make sence for it to exist, probably as a network of inteligence that is ascessible to the public via tecnology the same way ours are, with story and enterniment, but i guess it already exists as a person on this comment section is talking about something called the Holonet, so that might be it. Being honest, would a advenced galaxy really be devoid of ridiculous humor?
You'd have ads like "The Hutts HATE this guy! Check out his one weird trick for scoring infinite creds!", and(To swipe a page out of Jontron's book) conspiracy theories floating around like "Alderran was an inside job"
Personally I think what we call social media is in many ways very braindead.
I much more prefer more simple and direct communications like forums, blogs, or email.
Ok, YouTube makes sense.
But Facebook, Twitter etc really not so much.
Thus it makes sense to me that Star Wars wouldnt have social media. They are in a way considered more enlightenend, right ?
I think theres internet, but you have to go to the local library to access it, and its more for information than communication. Communication happends with these 3d holograms thats basically a telephone.
I'm wrong in putting email in that list (I didn't really double check what I was saying) but forums... blogs? That's social media, especially forums.
BTW any acronym that has more than 4-5 letters really shouldn't be used. Defeats the point of having an acronym in the first place to have that many letters. Just type out "as far as I can see" next time. That way I won't have to google what the hell you mean.
no need to get offended & defensive there, buddy. i just think anyone who doesn't know about the holonet when it's in pretty much every star wars scene is a dumbass. it's not a personal attack, no need to be so sensitive
