EA's "surprise mechanics"
Another day, another time EA tries to legalize gambling. This time they just renamed loot boxes to "surprise mechanics".

Thats just the first hit google offered me, I've heard about it on AngryJoe's game channel. I liked OtherJoe's comment that the surprise is in the bank account. 
Personally I would say its time to shut down this company hard and persecute everyone among the staff who is liable for these activities.

Did you mean "prosecute" the staff?
Either way, get them before a court because they want to inflict gambling on minors.
