Santa Claus Opinion

:icon28118:

I know it's too early to mention Santa when it's not even December, but I just gotta ask your opinion on the guy. Do you think he's still a jolly fat guy who delivers presents to kids, or do you think he's the biggest marketing tool being used by the American economy? Personally, for me, it's door number 2.

Its a fun online universe of creative writers who create monsters and other paranormal entities that is shadowy secret organization tries to contain. Like the X-Files, Supernatural, and the Twilight Zone all in one.

I think he’s just for kids to settle themselves or to give them some fun lol
I used to believe in him when I was younger cuz apparently my mom put gifts on my and my siblings’ stockings haha. I found out a few years later that it was actually herOh Noes!
At one point I also thought he only existed/lived in America, along with other mythical beings jmakemjd

All I can say is that you know it's the Christmas season when that Coca Cola advert is on tv with Santa Claus' face on the red truck.

I say it has always been marketing.
But it also has an origin story rooted in fact somewhere, minus the magic and flying reindeer, obviously.
I don't like buying into the dumbfuck idea that we all feed our kids of "look at all these gifts Santa brought you". Santa should only bring you ONE GIFT.
It's ridiculous to think of him and a workshop of elves producing fucking apps and iPads of all things.
Even with magic considered.

People should have Christmas on their mind through the months building up. Buy little things as gifts as you come by them and it makes you think of whoever and save them up for a special occasion (like Christmas but doesn't have to be).
It just helps keep it feel genuine and funloving instead of forced and materialistic.

In short, I like the symbol of Santa I think it started off as a decent enough thing and some people really love it. For kids, it keeps their imaginations alive even if briefly.

That is a good point. Santa doesn't seem like the guy who would have his elves make iPads.

Santa Claus rocks and there's nothing wrong with marketing, consumerism and obscene profits around the holidays.  In fact, we all benefit from it.

The environment doesn't.
The amount of glitter and tinsel used around these holidays is horrible.

The rest of it I'll give ya is pretty dope, though.

If only but that would be about as honest as the 100% biodegradable plastic they try selling people.
In about 150 years I suppose it might be but what kind of soil would you be left with after that, anyway?

We do. But American economists don't really know the true origins of Santa, it seems.

Never believed at Santa. Only now I realized he's just a marketing tool for businessman.

Santa also trespasses. A lot. I don't like people to trespass my house, whether Santa or not.

Santa has become a marketing tool, and he does trespass into people's homes via a chimney.

Yes--

or do you think he's the biggest marketing tool being used by the American economy?"

I--- That made woke. It took me forever to realize that even today. Maybe it is door two. Yikes, I don't think it's a bad idea to use it as a marketing tool honestly even though I don't like the idea.
Obviously, he's not real and the money makes the world go around. I gotta let it sink in for a minute. OAO;;

An over-the-top horror comedy film in which Santa (Bill Goldberg) is the son of the Devil who was forced to be a bringer of joy for a 1000 years after losing a wager to an angel. With the time up he intends to return to his murderous ways.
