i'll have to rewatch it then, since it's been a long time since i've seen it.
In the first few Spider-man films Toby Macguire was extremely stiff and his jokes were just some lazy puns. His acting reminded me more of Clark Kent than Peter Parker. His romance with Mary Jane was written as a constant source of problems, so it was hard to route for them. Willem Dafoe was the best thing in those films, and he was only in the first one.
On the other hand Andrew Garfield's Spider-man was fun, agile, and witty; much closer to the Spider-man from the comics. The chemistry with Emma Stone came across as very cute as well. Albeit, they made Peter more of a cool skater kid than a picked on science nerd, but I still enjoyed this version more.

really spiderman in the original trilogy was the worst part of it. sandman, goblin, and doc ock were what made those movies. and yes, dafoe was by far the greatest thing in those films
