Depends on the amount of destruction this comes with. If it only means less people, seems ok to me. If it means stone age for the remaining 15%, rather no.

Depends on the amount of freedom which they grant us and the general way they want to manage their colony. Could be alright, could be horrible. Could even be better than what we have now if they give us advanced technology. More details needed.
