The Democrats are already whining about the interim appointment. They always tell us what they are afraid of! Trump needs to declassify all documents pertaining to the Mueller probe, FISA Court applications, Hillary Clinton correspondence, EVERYTHING, but my guess is he is waiting for the nutjobs in the House to start acting up, then he will tuck it up their ass. Classic Trump! While the Dems struggle at checkers he plays 3D chess!
The election couldn't have turned out better. Get a two year supply of popcorn and watch the show!

What will be interesting is the ensuing Constitutional crisis when his stooge tries to stop Mueller's investigation.

I don't think it'll matter.  I believe Mueller has been so quiet and secretive on this matter that he has more information than the Republicans don't know what they're gambling with.  It was long speculated that this investigation would've been wrapped up in September

And Trump's new acting AG could immediately shut down the investigation and rule that NONE of that evidence EVER be made public. Have you never seen the new rules these investigations operate under?

Kind of like what the Obama administration did after Operation Fast and Furious was exposed.

True, but that wasn't over selling us out to one of our greatest enemies. But I guess you're cool with Trump doing that.

Oh of course the new AG can pull that card, but Dems control the house now and one subpoena changes that entire strategy ;)  Simply move to make that information public, or at the very lest available to the house committee

Nope, it won't be that easy at all. The Senate will rubber-stamp any Trump appointments and Trump and the Senate can block attempts to make the info public. This is gonna be an ugly fight before it's over. Possibly literally.

If the Senate jumps on that roller coaster then they risk charges of contempt of congress, given the current political mood I think the Republicans will find themselves wanting.

Ugly indeed.

He was fired, or rather asked to resign, which is the same thing.

Trump is setting up the AG to keep him and his son out of jail.

Classic obstruction of justice.

Trump should resign at this point. It might not keep him out of jail but it will save the country a lot of embarrassment.

They will probably try to impeach him now. They are already talking about it. Trump made a strategic mistake.

he wasn't doing his job so yes he should resign, he wasn't doing good, he was only halting and causing delays, so it's good he's been let go.  let's hope they get someone in there that can play better than Jeff did.

Good he was awful. He still thinks Marijuana should be illegal. He is clearly on the wrong side of history and needed to go. Four states legalized Marijuana Yesterday.

The Democrats of course are freaking out and focusing on the Mueller investigation saying it triggered a constitutional crisis. This is the kind of hyperbole we are going to be hearing endlessly for the next two years.

All of a sudden the Democrat Party loves Sessions. They are protesting his ouster, of course whatever dirt they held over the head of the Attorney General is now gone. No more Democrat control over Justice!

Anyone with two brain cells to rub together knew Sessions would be gone after the mid-terms.

"Four states legalized Marijuana Yesterday."

Which is amazing! That said, it took the citizens voting to get them to do it, so it's not like the State's legislatures and governors themselves had the balls to change their own unnecessary laws. It took the citizens to say do this!

The problem is the politicians are out of touch. They think marijuana legalization is unpopular. They couldn't be more dead wrong. It is one of the few things Republicans AND Democrats agree on. Talking about the voters here and not the clueless politicians and party leaders. Legalize recreational marijuana, do it now and do it fast.

I am particularly interested in the marijuana medical research being allowed to be carried out as there is mounting evidence that marijuana could be a significantly better, and considerably less addictive, alternative to opioids for treating chronic pain.

Fuck no, it's one of the main reasons we have Fox news.  They were created solely to express favoritism for right wing administrations

It isn't like  Mueller's investigation has found any collusion between Trump and the Russians.

Mueller's investigation isn't just about finding collusion between Trump and Russians, it's much broader than that. It's managed to indict and prosecute more people than previous investigations yet only in Trumpers eyes has it done nothing.

Lots of people close to Trump have been found to be criminals. How many honest and law abiding people do you know who willingly associate and promote known criminals?

It was expected, but I doubt he resigned because he actually wanted to.
Wednesday, November 7, 2018

:bulletred: President Donald Trump on Wednesday fired Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

"At your request I am submitting my resignation," Sessions wrote in a letter to White House chief of staff John Kelly.

:bulletred: Matthew Whitaker will take over as acting attorney general, the President said.

Whitaker is expected to take charge of the the Russia investigation and special counsel Robert Mueller from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

"We are pleased to announce that Matthew G. Whitaker, Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice, will become our new Acting Attorney General of the United States. He will serve our Country well ...We thank Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his service, and wish him well! A permanent replacement will be nominated at a later date," Trump tweeted.

:bulletred: Sessions received the request to resign from Kelly, not the President, on Wednesday morning, an administration official said. It is not clear whether Mueller was told ahead of time.
