We are in the fourth turning. We are due a big war. Maybe things will be a little better afterwards.

Censorship is neither left- or right-wing, neither communist nor capitalist. It's human, because humans can't stand other humans who think or act otwerwise. It always makes me laugh to see pro-unrestrained-capitalism people complain that Facebook or YT practise censorship, only they don't seem to realize that these sites do it so they attract most beneficial audience - young western people who are statistically more likely to have left-wing inclination :XD:

freedom of speech is a given right in most first world countries in the present day, but that doesn't mean you won't be immune to consequences from saying some generally looked down upon stuff. sure, someone saying some really mean shit on twitter is allowed, but those who criticize, reprimand, shun, and yell at you for it are also practicing their right, in a sense. it starts to drift away from rights and into morals at some point too but that's v e r y muddy territory i'm not qualified to try and explain

Freedom od speech doesn't mean you can say anything you want.
It means you can express your views and suffer the consequences for that. It also means that I can disagree with you.
If we lock up someone whose views are dangerous we'll be going down the spiral of locking up everyone. "What about this guy? We locked that guy so why not this one?" etc.

It is the end result of decades of mainstream media programming, entertainment, as well as education, and people becoming to lazy to think for themselves.

Yeah, exactly! Damn liberals don't know how to think for themselves! Only the right wing would blatantly disagree with a celebrity president who wanted to see a man fired for kneeling during the anthem to bring awareness to racially based police brutality, citing that he viewed it as disrespecting the country and its veterans, even though it was a veteran that gave him the idea to do that in the first place...

Wait, shit.
Smithnikovat's avatar
And the same veterans that Trump calls "Losers".
BeautifulRainofAutum's avatar
Well... You're ironically giving me a good example. If you think you can prove me wrong than do it, don't just repeat the same nonsense the msm keeps pushing about racists cops etc.
Smkiller's avatar
Prove what wrong? The point I'm making is that it's not only the left. Y'all acting like it is because you're as "brainwashed" as you claim everyone else is. Both parties are equally shit, and both are guilty of many of the same behaviors.

Prepare to get blocked by Rain now. I said the same thing.

They had blocked me once before for daring to disagree with them. I'm surprised they unblocked me at all.

They got bitten by the Communism bug & they are too poor & too dumb to know better.
Went to the political forums a few days ago, 2 Commies called me a conservative & blocked me when I tell them welfare & increasing minimum wage doesn't work. The lure of free stuff & more money is a sweet promise to the illiterate. Ever since I was a kid, all of my American & European friends keep warning me that Americans are dumb, I never believed them until this political correct madness happened. I still have some people on this site asked me not to talk to Americans like they have no brains, I told them I would but it doesn't work. I thanked them for asking me, because now I know they can understand the subject matter. But now we're living in a post metoo world, emotion reigned the discourse, logic is considered "conservative" "monstrous" and "heartless". Well, how else am I supposed to talk to these people than to treat them like young children?
DGCinfoKitty's avatar
What are you talking about giving money to the poor is a great way to grow an economy. Read Keynes?
da1withdalongestname's avatar

Only works when the amount of people paying in is at the same rate of people taking them.

StephenL's avatar
Not only a great way to grow the economy it is also a good way to avoid your country turning into a third world society.
Let's face it during good economic times of growth and lowering unemployment free hand out programs do more harm than good and lead to a labor shortage.
On the other hand when things get bad and unemployment goes soaring upward you avoid the inevitable chain reaction of a downward spiral in the economy with government help.
Let's be realistic, during hard times conservative individuals and big corporations will take any government hand outs they can get their hands on.     During hard times accepting government hand outs is just as helpful to the economy as finding and working at an honest job during good times.

Because political discourse is like a pendulum that works against the laws of physics.
Instead of swinging left to right and right to left and gradually slowing down until it stops (AKA, find a reasonable middle ground) it swings more and more violently until it goes full circle.

In other words - extreme views from one side breed even more extreme ones on the other and vice versa.

Moderate views are not fashionable and no matter how reasonable you are, you will simply make enemies on all sides - you will simply be accused of inaction and dealing with the devil, making compromises in places where non can be had or whatever other excuse both sides find to hate you.

Kind of like the horseshoe theory - the more extreme the views on both political sides become, they more the resemble each other - only the reasoning behind different stuff will differ.

Oh, and let's not kid ourselves - neither right nor left likes freedom of speech, they actually hate it with passion. Why? Because extreme positions are always allergic to being opposed.
They will defend freedom of speech ONLY when it is their view which is opposed.

Communism is synonymous with censorship. Take a look at the history and present communist countries.
AspiePieTheFag's avatar
Why are you assuming it's the Communist when most of this is from anarchist???
88HH's avatar

Are you saying Soviet Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, China, North Korea, East Germany and all other past and present communist states were/are anarchic?

AspiePieTheFag's avatar
No. I wasn't arguing about past Communist... But such states were more Kleptocracies then true Communist States... Such states are supposed to built up when their is already a history of Democratic Socialism...
88HH's avatar

You have a point. Democratic socialist countries like Norway and Sweden for examples are there. But we must also acknowledge their economic system, which is capitalism. They can co-exist with each other in a perfect harmony.

DGCinfoKitty's avatar
Well that's sane for a Nazi. Both me and Aspie Pie have said Mixed States appear to be the best to live in?
88HH's avatar

Oh right, I am a nazi again.

But anyway, that's okay. I think we both agree that mixed states like those can exist and become successful. Like I have said many times, I am a centrist. But sadly today's "liberals" call me nazi for wanting to have a free market economy without any state intervention.
