What the fuck, YouTube.

Seriously, what the actual fuck are you doing? I just got recommended some video with a graphic image of a dog that'd just got tortured by it's owners. Why am I recommended this? Why is it even on the site in the first place? Keep animal torture and gore away from YT you sick fucks. Keep that shit on LiveLeak.

God, if there's one thing that really bothers me about the internet it's fucking gore and torture footage. So many talk of porn but it's gore that's the really worrying stuff I'd want to keep away from my kids.

Anyway, the internet has yet again not failed to deliver in it's custom of let's fuck up your day. Great.

Algorithm fucked up

I once saw this crime documentary vid use an actual photo of the body for their thumbnail. Like try having respect for the dead- did someone really sit there staring at a corpse and think "yea this will get clicks"
blackbook668's avatar

Any dead body photo that isn't crime scene often bothers me because I wonder about the person who took it and what they were thinking. I'm not really into encouraging people's morbid curiosity.

Have you reported the video?
blackbook668's avatar

Lot of people asking that. As far as I'm aware you can only report it by going on the video directly on your account. I'm not prepared to do that.

I got recommended "24 hours without our phones". God how I wish for a nuclear holocaust.
blackbook668's avatar

That sounds like one of those dumb "educational" types with ugly animated illustrations. So much of YouTube culture is pure trash.

It was 4 basic bitch white girls.

Not one of them reads a book to pass the time.

LMAO

But being serious there’s too much of that kind of content on YT. Real funny how much clout they get for it though.

“OH MY GOD, STACY STARTED CRYING BECAUSE SHE CANT RESPOND TO HER INSTAGRAM MESSAGES! THIS WILL GET TONS OF VIEWS BECAUSE THIS TOTALLY ISNT STAGED AND ACTED OUT!!”

Tsk tsk. The people my age really are somethin’.....
KaizenKitty's avatar

shit thats messed up. at least you can report the video. i hope YT deletes that channel & informs local authorities. animal abuse is illegal.

I guess they wanted to teach you that animal cruelty is wrong.
Or maybe recomendations are random because all that talk about corporations spying on you is pure myth (seariously: I see ads for axes and chainsaws no idea why. I'm not into cutting or woodwork. Last thing I bought online was heart shaped mold for cookies).
Hard to tell really.
KaizenKitty's avatar
the ads are also location based. after giving them my phone number i started receiving ads for local stores :O ....like super local. ( :XD: that i already go to....)
blackbook668's avatar

It seemed a lot to me like they were cashing in on the picture as a way to gain views.

It's what the algorithm recommends based on your history.
blackbook668's avatar

Never searhed up anything about dogs or cruelty to animals. The closest animal thing I have is cute videos of cats and baby penguins, stuff like that. I searched up wild close encounters a while ago but I don't think that'd translate to this.

Find comfort in the fact that it was probably an automated system. No human moderators have spotted the video yet

That make you feel better?
blackbook668's avatar

It's quite a popular video. It's not one of those 5 view type deals.

KaizenKitty's avatar
have you reported it yet
blackbook668's avatar

Been unable to without going on the damn thing on my actual account.

I won't give the name of the video but the channel in question goes by the name of STRAY PAWS.

I've never had graphic suggestions like that, but I do agree that YT's algorithm is beyond broken. I keep seeing those weird Elsagate-type vids sometimes on the sidebar when I'm checking out cartoon stuff. :(

YouTube's notoriously broken algorithm and people not having the brains to fix it properly aside, people who make abuse videos belong in one of three places: prison, a mental ward, and under a tombstone

The thing that annoys me about the Internet is the sheer amount of enabling these people get by not condemning their actions
