COPY AND PASTE IN SAI
I really need help with SAI on mac. I'm working on a drawing and want to copy and paste a separate image onto the one I'm working on. It doesn't work though. I selected the image and went to edit> copy and then to the image I'm working on edit> paste but the paste option isn't selectable? I cannot click on it! What can I do! I tried several times and still cannot paste the imagine.

I think I had the same problem a minute ago with SAI.
Did I understand it correctly, that you tried to paste something into a new layer, which semed to work but the new layer looked 'empty'?
Then maybe the reason for this is that the canvas you copied something from is bigger than the canvas you want to paste it in? Because, if you have two different canvas sizes it might be, that you can't see the copied file in the new canvas because it is in the grey area, beyond the part where you can draw - Sai just pastes things where they were on the original layer, so it might end up being somewhere else in the new layer. :/
But next time when you pasted something into a new layer, try CTRL + T and see, if it selects something in the grey area or if there's a message saying 'the selection is empty' or sth. like that. :3

Can the image even be pasted into MSPAINT or a MSWord Doc?
If not , then the owner of said image put some effort into makibg sure people couldn't just cooy and paste. Or, alternatively , you actually aren't viewing the image 'correctly'.

The layer is not the tinwork or lineart layer.

Save it in MSPaint and then copy and Paste from there or open another SaI doc/image and try copy and pasting into that.
I've honestly never come across this problem before..

Yes, I cannot paste it onto any of they layers
I can create new layers, but whatever I copied cannot be pasted.

I just figured it out.
I was trying to set up to draw adoptables.
The image has to be in a certain format psd or png. Normally people have it set up for you but.. yeah..
I saved it to my computer as a png.
Then I put it in my Paint Tool Sai Image/save folder
Then i opened Paint Tool Sai.
then I opened the png image
I checked to make sure that I could draw underneath the layer.
Then I saved it as a Sai file.
You can have two windows open in Sai.
Other than that I'm not sure...

I had screen shot for my SAI tool. Just for sure you can take a look at it. But I don't know how to upload it in COMMENT.

Click submit.
Go to Sta.sh
You would upload the image to your Sta.sh.
Then you would post the link onto the board

You can't paste into a linework layer, so make sure that's not what you're doing.
