Well, technically Intel Macs can run PPC code, but only through Rosetta or some other emulation. And Apple dropped Rosetta around Lion or Mountain Lion.
Apple tends to force changes upon it's users, and I'm of the opinion that is a good thing. They forced PPC out for newer, faster, more efficient Intel chips and then forced developers to upgrade their apps. Those that didn't were left behind, and I haven't seen anyone complain. I'm not sure what work Adobe did, if any, to make it compatible with Intel, but I know that in 2007-2008 it definitely worked on 10.4 and 10.5.
But Apple stole FireWire from me, and gave me Thunderbolt instead. 10Gbps transfer speed is cool, but what the fuck am I supposed to plug the other end of the cable into?
Take advantage before it goes away!
