Hey people! I've been using audacity for a while, and it's not really suiting my satisfaction for good quality sound like in famous music videos we all hear!

SOOO I need an amazing music recording software that I can edit freely on without any complicated features and such! I have a project due next Wednesday and need this song recorded by the end of the week ~ Thanks!

Audacity is the right kind of free, but it's a sound file editor and not really a DAW.

Try these instead:

Qtractor - [link]
Traverso - [link]
Rosegarden - [link]

I know one program named leawo Music Recorder. it can record music from lot sites like YouTube, Last.FM, Pandora, Napster, Spotify etc. And it can automatically download music file information to complete recorded music files, including: title, artist, album, cover, etc. You can also add music information by editing recorded audio files manually. so that's pretty awsome, you could give a try.

I agree that Audacity is a very good software. I can show you how to use it if you like.

yeah that'd be cool. I already changed my project though to actually playing it in front of her, so you can show me how to whenever :)

It looks like you bit off more than you can chew. Audacity should suit whatever needs you have.

I've tried looking up audacity tutorials and found nothing that I wanted for my music...I wanted an echo effect and all it does is repeat the same thing. Kind of frustrating :hmm:

Want quality software and demand it be free? Should stop being so cheap...

umm yeah ok I don't think you know cheap when you see it. If you really want to know, I can't AFFORD over $100 in quality software because my family can't even afford to pay for their own bills every month.

IF I had the money, I wouldn't be on this forum, now would I?

A general rule of thumb is that if you can't afford it, you don't need it. Fortunately there is free software out there that will work for you and your budget, like Audacity.

Software isn't a life necessity. Either enjoy the software that folk put out there for free, save up for the good stuff or don't use either and stop whining.

You think I'm wining? There is one thing I don't do, and that's whine. It pisses me off entirely that you don't know me, and you call me cheap?

NO.

I know software isn't a life necessity but it's nice to be happy with the good things people put out there. I asked for free software, and I'm happy to look at the suggestions that people give me.

Now if you don't have any good suggestions for a recording software, then get out of my thread. Thanks! :)

I'm not being CHEAP just because I can't afford something and trying to find something that I want to try out for once...for free!

I just can't afford anything! OK??? I'm a teenager who does music as a hobby and want to try recording it for once without complications! IS THAT OK WITH YOU?

everyone else is giving answers that I can use for my interest. I have no desire to read comments that discourage me THANK YOU!

Now once again, if you don't have anything to suggest for me, then GET OFF my thread.

So you're pissed off because I didn't know your life story when you only wrote you want free stuff. You know that folk can't read minds and only know you from what you type. Should learn better communication before you get upset :pat:

I'm not upset you don't know my life story. I'm upset that you jump to conclusions and make your own stories up. All I asked for was an answer, you decided to profile me.
