...The one malware my AVG antimalware suite refuses to get rid of.
It's that fake Java updater that when you run it, it always "fails" the "Java installation" which it is really a virus...and I have absolutely no idea how to rid myself of it. AVG doesn't detect it when I run a scan...is there a tool I can download to get rid of that pesky thing, or something?
If it's not signed then you may have gotten the malware version. That said, AVG can and will easily remove that particular bit of malware. I know from experience
I would say that you should totally uninstall Java and see if it goes away. Then reinstall Java and check for the signature on the software.
