Combining two images seamlessly in Gimp

I have a project that I've been working on.

I' am trying to figure out a way in GIMP to blend both the top portion and the bottom portion to look like they are one seamless image. I was initially trying to fix the width of both the top and bottom so they can be lined up, but to no success yet.

Just resize and move them until they line up. I'm not sure what exactly you're asking

it's just not really clear what exactly you're trying to do and what isn't working for you

Ok I've gotten the issue straightened out. [link] I changed the width of the bottom layer to be more in line with the top portion(Before that I didn't know you can change layer sizes and was trying to different methods like changing the canvas size) I apologize if I was vague earlier. I admit sometimes I need to go into more detail.
