Hiya! Last night my parents' Vista install decided that it didn't wanna log anyone in to the PC. Basically what it started doing is it booted to the login screen, but whenever anyone tried to log in, it froze up on the Welcome screen.

Has anyone on dA who has Vista been having this problem too?

The PC is an eMachines EL1300G-O1w, and the specs are an AMD Athlon 2650e~1.6GHz, 2 gigs of RAM, a 160-gig HDD, and Windows Vista Home Basic SP1.

Vista, there's you're problem.

But seriously, try loading the vista CD again and this time click "Repair my computer" and see if that will fix it.

eMachines uses cheap hardware that breaks easily.

Think switching to Dell would be better.

The hardware's fine, it's the OS that's the problem.

Well the only thing i can think of is the repairing method, other then that I suggest getting a Windows 7 or 8.

I think the Alureon virus might have caused this.
