Paintshoprox x4 eraser help

I called, texted and tried their forums. You have to have purchased not demo copy. How then will I buy it, if it sucks in a demo version?

I want the stupid thing not to erase out the white background. ;( I'm not sure what's wrong. I tried background eraser and regular. The old one didn't do this.

I want to keep the white but erase the dirt speckles.

It scans it. Does it think it's transparent when scanned? Do I need to convert it to another layer? Is there a command for the eraser somewhere? Any help. Thanks

you know an easy way to fix that is to just use the paintbrush tool set on white. i think the problem you're having is that you're not working with layers, so of course the white background is being erased.

Odd thing was it says backround. I always use to let me do this. When I got pspx4, doesn't seem to let me . Clone brush is about it. I can't delete alot with that. Harder on fingers to hold down to re copy another area. Hmmm what if the backround is 1/4 shade of white. Would the dropper tool work with the eraser then?

because that is the background. use the color drop tool to select the paper color, then paint out the smudges with the paint brush tool

Wouldn't it show in layers? I had smear marks one time years ago when I used it. Unless it was before layers.

Ok, sooooooo do I hit multiply? Then get a white background and some how delete the other. I totally forgot.

There has to be a way to not need to trace an artwork you made?
