All of you forum helpers are too dumb and not doing a good job helping her out. Now, let me try to explain this.

STOP error 0xD1 (DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL) bug check indicates that a kernel-mode driver attempted to access paging (or that is completely invalid) memory at a process IRQL that was too high. Such a bug indicates that it was usually caused by drivers that have used improper addresses.

The offending driver ar5211.sys has the parameters: 0x00000008, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0xBA537DCF

The parameters identified had a IRQL reference of 2 and the offending driver was in write mode. In short, the offending ar5211.sys is a chipset driver made by Atheros and it is found on many Atheros wireless network adapters.

Check and do the following:

1. Check the wireless adapter to make sure that it is functioning correctly. Also, try to reinstall or update the Atheros wireless network driver to see if it works. If it doesn't, then the wireless network card maybe going bad and you may have to find a way to get the network card replaced, if it is possible.

2. If you have formatted your computer in a frequent matter, it puts a lot of wear on the hard drive itself to a point where it could someday go bad. Try running chkdsk x: /f /r at the Command Prompt to run a scan on the hard disk and try to recover the data on the hard disk. If the scan has found any bad sectors, the hard drive will be starting to go bad and sooner or later, you will most likely have to get the data backed up and replaced soon.

One best tip is that you can only format the hard drive after you partition the newly installed hard disk.

I hope that this helps. If I'm missing anything, let me know and we'll go from here. :)

I tried to help her out as much, but it turns out that formatting and reinstalling doesn't seem to work. She just had a problem with her Atheros wireless internet connection. That's all.

I hardly ever format and never do that when there is something wrong. I suspected wireless card may be going bad. I will try to reinstall driver. Though it was made 04' so its abit old. Thank you for explaing the error. I do regularly check errors. C:

You're welcome. Do you know what the model number of the Atheros card is?
