Hi guys,

I used to paint a lot with my tablet and had a few years of a break.

Now I'm looking for a new tablet, preferably Wacom Intuos 3,4 or 5, does anyone have a spare tablet? If you're willing to sell it please contact me!

Thanks xx

You could just do the obvious thing! Get a a less expensive new wacom tablet bamboo for like 50$ that can do anything you want and will let you experiment and not make you invest too much mone. Option a you will use it once and a while and it will be awesome option b you will use it non stop and get very good and realize after a while you need a sharper ride , so you will sale that bamboo and get a fancy shmancy intuitos :P

I don't know about "all you want". I used a bamboo for a couple of years and now that I have my intuos4, the difference is seriously the same as going from a mouse to bamboo.

Bamboo is nice and all but if you want to do some serious drawing, it's a bit inadequate.

I got my intuos4 from the wacom store, they sell ones that are used in demonstrations at an almost 50% discount, so I got one relatively cheaply.

Good idea. I checked it's 243 for large and 180 for medium both unfortunately out of stock. I remember large selling for 250 before it was discontinued so still a little pricey :(

Yeah, they tend to go rather quickly. If you give your email there they'll notify you when they're in stock, you might have to wait a while though, and act fast when they notify you.

I know you stated you want Intuos 3 or later, but I have a large Intuos 2 Wacom Tablet (23.5x17.5). I just decided about 2 days ago that I want to sell it, because I'm wanting to get a newer and smaller wacom. The Intuos 2 comes with the tablet pen and pen stand. And it's in good condition. No problems with it as far as I know. I had a couple offers on it already, but no one seems to be serious about it. How much are you looking to spend?

amazon do new ones for a good price (as the used ones are just as expensive) and they're reliable too :D

Yeah I've looked, but I'm in UK and they are just as expensive as new! Cheapest used medium tablet was 349!

eek!, that's alot for a used tablet,
the full listed price on the wacom site is 329, amazon does an intuos 5 medium tablet for 274, brand new (don't worry i brought mine from there for that price)
pc world - don't go there, if you are buy an intuos (new or used), you won't get a warranty from the store, they're also expensive as well
i also found a intuos 4 wireless (the workspace is a similar size to a small, you might as well buy intuos 5 medium without touch for the same price) on the wacom store for about 230 and intuos 4 small for 115 (same price as a bamboo fun & touch small)

Why used? Why not get a new Monoprice tablet?

Also ebay is where you want to look

New ones are too expensive for me. I would invest in the tablet more if I knew I would use it all the time but for I'm not quite sure how much time I will spend on painting.

Sometimes I don't trust ebay and I trust dA!

I think you can afford $60 if you're looking to buy a tablet at all

I meant new Intuos is too expensive. I don't want to use a "starter" tablet.

Of course I can afford $60 but buying a new Intuos is 300+ ($480+), I'm looking to spend only half of that, therefore my options are limited to used.

The Monoprice tablets are easily on par with intuos 3's and will be as good as an intuos 4 for all practical purposes.

Have you ever tried an intuos4?

Yup, use one fairly often :dummy: used the monoprice too. For the OP's purposes and budget the monoprice should be the same as an intuos 4 for all practical purposes.

The pen on the Monoprice is the biggest difference but that's something easy to live with if you're trying to save money. When you're going cheap for cheap hardware sometimes you have to compromise.

Well the OP seems to disagree with you, seems like s/he wants/needs a professional-grade tablet, in which case a used intuos is a much better option than some unknown cheapo model.

I'm not going for a cheap tablet, I want the best for the best price, it's being smart.
