I recently switched to using solely and only Ubuntu. For the most part I'm very happy with this decision, but my trusty Canon 5200F simply refuses to cooperate. (I should have thought of that earlier - then again, it probably wouldn't have changed my mind.)
I've checked with different forums, and apparently my case is hopeless, so I will get a new scanner, and was wondering:
I might have added: Of course I went through this list. I was actually hoping someone would tell me something along the lines "I use this scanner, and I'm very happy with it / and it works, but there are the following problems ..."
You could look up what scanners work well with Linux. I have an HP Officejet 6500-f, IIRC. It's a printer with a built-in scanner that works very well. Also, what programs are you scanning with? xsane or simple scan?
