A fair deal or fairly overpriced?

Hey folks,
I'm looking to buy a new pc aimed at photomanipulation and gaming. I'd like a system that could at least run Skynet Skyrim smoothly and be capable of editing large files on photoshop while multitasking. I got the offer for a custom build pc listed below. Do you think this would be a fair deal or am I being taken for a walk? Your advice would be much appreciated.

  • Intel Core i5-3450, s1155 3.10GHz, Quad-core, 6MB, Box

  • ASUS p8Z77-v, s1155 ATX, PCIe, WIFI, VGA, DVI, HDMI, DP

  • ASUS GeForce GTX570 DCII, 1.2GB
    GDDR5, 2xDVI, HDMI, DP, PCIe

  • Seagate Barracuda 2TB - 3.5 inch SATA
    3.6GB/s 7200RPM, 64MB

  • Cooler Master Sileo 500 + 500WATT PSU Midi-tower, ATX

  • Samsung DVR DL 22x, OEM

  • Corsair Vengeance DDR3, 1600-16GB kit
    1600MHz, CL9, 4x4GB, XMP, 1.5V, LP

All this, with assembly and installation: 1112,79 Euroes.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. Personally I might drop the hard drive down to a 1TB and pick up a SSD for the sake of booting/running your games faster.

Have to agree with Khyoon. A 7850 would be a better choice over the 570 as the 7850 is a fair bit faster and about the same price, plus you still get gpu acceleration for Ps through OpenGL (CS4/5).

What specific power supply are you using?

Apparently, the power supply comes with the chassis, so I assume that will be Standard ATX PS2

Can you provide a link?

I suggest checking with the shop for the exact brand/model of the power supply.
I do believe its the Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 500watt [link] which isn't exactly a great psu.

If that price is the entire rig as a whole then it's fine really.
If it was all the components tallied up, then I have to question how much the 570 was going for. (Best bang for buck card right now would have to go to the AMD Radeon HD7850.)

Ah thanks. The AMD Radeon HD7850 is actually a good 50 euroes cheaper then the Asus GeForce. If you look at the specs, I can see why you suggest it :) It's definitely faster and has a higher resolution.
I see that the Radeon doesn't have PhysX support though and I think that would be cool to have, but I doubt it's essential...

I'll definitely ask about it in the store.

Whether it's overpriced or not, it's best to compare with other shops in your area for that. Different markets and all, etc. (e.g: in the US, the GTX670 is supposedly cheaper than the 7970, but here in our market it's vice versa (because supply/demand is at play))

The only things I dont like like about this build is the PSU and case and the processor. Then again I dont like non K skews since I cant get more eprformance out of them.

Though my main concern is the power supply and case. Also I see there is no SSD. I recommend geting an SSD as a boot drive and programs. It speeds things up a lot.

Thanks! I'm not looking to overclock or anything though. I'm not really a hardware-person, so I prefer to buy something that'll work without having to disassemble it. I did notice the absence of the SSD when I compared the offer to a standard made gaming system. How important is it to have one? As I understand it, it's a special flash-memory drive where you can install your programs so they load faster. Right now, I tend to install games on a portable hard drive and haven't had much problems with it. (Mind you, I remember the time where you had to wait 15 minutes for a game to load from an audio-cassette :P) Still, I might be willing to accept the cost of one if it will improve the performance and lifetime of my system...

SSD's are very reliable it's why I use one. Also the boot up speed of my pc greatly improves as well as system responsiveness. Overall I find my windows experiance improved.

Anyway if you're not planning on ever opening this up and changing parts then it should do fine. Since it comes pre built the case is not a problrem for you.

If I may ask what site are you buying from, since I am also dutch. ;) Anyway with an SSD this system would be great. I btw have my games installed on another hard drive, since it doesnt matter for loading times a HUGE deal for the games I play.
