Yeah since many colleges, companies are buying from Dell because of the stable pc's they can get from them. Like there is a big price difference on a home user PC from Dell and a working station PC from Dell Everyone knows that the working station PC is better from Dell than their home user. Well you can get some that are better than the working station but still It is still the same customer service they use so I don't really get it O.o Why is there so much hate on them because of the custom service o.o
We went originally just so he could get an i7 2600K because this particular store was the only one selling them. When we got there they said they would price match so he spent the next 4 hours on his iPhone figuring out which board to buy. Then he fought with the management about price matching and shit. I just got him to buy me a new sound card and gave him my 8800 to hold him over until he decided which card he wanted to buy. He got me kicked out because he insisted on buying the exact same backpack I had brought into the store and the manager, on realizing, thought I was just trying to steal mine. Of course, I have a pocket of it with nothing but molex connectors, an Ethernet cable crimper with a package of ends and a soldering iron. They thought I was trying to steal it all I pointed out that unless they sold my chemistry textbook and homework, they were just being assholes.
I do few things half-assed but...I'm not a proper artist and I'm ok with that I have my desktop now built as small and as quiet as reasonably possible just to keep it easy to move around. I replaced all the fans with noctuas and the thing is quiet and dark. I used to go for all of the lights and shit but I've just grown out of it. It can hold its own though I need a new video card I think. New hard-drives too. I've always wanted to build a water-cooled quad-sli thing just for the fun of it. I built a water cooler this summer for work out of computer parts so I have a good idea of how to put it together now. So that's my plan when I settle down.
When you say a new computers worth of parts, do you mean a NEW computer actually featured somewhere?
Same here. But I want to double down on my multiple systems and just have one or two decent 4p systems, get a little render farm going and make it pay for itself. - The current state of people with graphical/media creation know-how seems to be improving(the people here are quite sad, do EVERYTHING half-assed) and even as technologically advanced this place is, I know there's VERY few people with desktops as capable as my laptop, let alone a proper workstation.
I also went with him to Microcenter while he bought a new computer's worth of parts, got in a fight with the manager, got me kicked out of the store, and then insisted we take a complicated series of buses to get home, rather than the direct train.
So...I deserved that money
If I wasn't so busy with school I would have more computers set up. When I live in a proper apartment and can stay in one place for more than a year I might start to settle down more.
Would almost be a fair deal if I didn't know it seems to have some sort of issue Love a good piece of hardware tho, you're almost guaranteed to get a least 12years of use out of a good piece of hardware.
