Ipod Touch Mysterious Icon Replication
My son has an ipod touch 5th gen and today a duplicate icon for Youtube showed up amongst the other app icons. The second one is darker and cannot be clicked on. If he holds down on it, the others will show their " x's " but this new one does not, so we don't know how to delete it. He has no idea how it got there. Has anyone ever had this happen, and if so, do you know how to remove it?

Try double-tapping the home button. Depending on the OS version, you'll either see a row of "cards" in the middle of the screen or a row of app icons at the bottom of all the recent apps that have been opened and haven't been closed. If you see cards, just swipe up to close the apps. If you see a row of app icons, tap on the X in the corner of each to close them. Close the YouTube app and see if the duplicate icon disappears. If not, just shut the device off, wait a little bit, then turn it back on and see if the duplicate is still there.

Try rebooting? That's always the first thing help-desk tells me to do.
