Tips for my new RP website?

I just recently made a new website called Sparkle Village([link]).

It's a role-playing forum website
and so far I have gotten members (most of them just wonderful friends who came to support), and only a few of them seem to actually want to rp.

I would like to know what would be a good way to advertise more?

How do I get to the people who actually like role-playing
and would constantly come back to RP?

What am I doing wrong?
Is the layout too confusing?

What could I do better?

Any tips or comments would be very helpful!

Have a good anti spam strategy. I have set up an RPG forum for me and some friends and within some weeks, I got like 250 accounts in there.
I don't know if all of them are spam or some just curious people, but since normal users are not allowed to post in the forum (I have to push them into a special group), that is no problem.

Since I know everyone in person who belongs to the group, this is quite easy. If someone else would want to join, he/she would have to write me an email and introduce himself.

The kind of RP I like is Shadowrun and Mutants and Masterminds but I might check it out one day.
