Take Credit in Artist Alley?

I recently attended artist alley at a convention. I lost a few sales because my potential customers no longer had cash and I didn't take credit. Though I noticed another artist taking credit there wasn't a long enough break to go over and talk to them. My question is how do you go about taking credit cards in artist alley?

There is also the Intuit GoPayment I've seen advertised on TV.

Which should be a similar service to Square.

Square is definitely the way to go! It's so great and cheap to use. And super easy! You can email receipts and even have them sign your phone if their card requires it!

Yah I saw that recently in a commercial on tv. Hey wait a minute that means you take credit. I coulda just asked you at the con. *shakes head* I'm a total blockhead. :ashamed: LOL! Well I'm really leaning to getting Square since I can use it on my tablet, I only have to make sure I'm allowed wi-fi access at the cons, if not I'll have my phone. :) Thanks for the info though.

I'd just use Square - if you have a smart phone. They send you a free card reader when you sign up and their rate is less than Paypals. =)

Yes I do have a smartphone, and I checked and Square is compatiable to my phone. And you're right about they're rate. Question: *SmT-Art said that I'd have to pay business taxes if I start taking credit. Do you by chance know if that's true?

As far as I know you only have to pay taxes on what you earn if it's over a certain amount. I can't say for certain so you may want to do some digging on your own. =)
Good luck!

The above suggestions are best.

You could also set up a laptop where people can send you paypal money/amazon payments.

Hmm...I never thought of doing that. All I'd have to do is see if the hotel/college, that's hosting the con, would give me access to they're wi-fi. I'm going to keep that as an option since *SmT-Art said that I'd have to pay business taxes if I used a card reader.
