Danny was absent from school, today. - Literature feature
I'm looking for a short story (less than 1550 words) based around this phrase. I am going to feature 5 (as long as there are not too many that I have trouble reading them).
Rules:
No rape or brutal torture scenes. I am absolutely fine with horror, just nothing super graphic, use your discretion. I am an adult, so I am not in need of eye shielding, just have a preference against the extremes.
The story must include the phrase above.
The story must not go above 1550 words (I will be somewhat flexible, but I won't be able to handle too much reading.
Due date is Sunday at 4:00PM CDT 4/19/2015. Again, I'll be somewhat flexible, but within limits.
Feel free to share stories after that date, but the feature will be in the middle of production at that point and anything after that submission time will not qualify.
I will have the feature up as soon as I decide my favorites.
