It all depends on the suns activity, it can be like a month or even 2 where you can see aurora every single day here where I live, and it can also be the same with no auroras, but id say this winter Ive seen auroras half the time. Have shot about 40000 images with the Nikon d800, almost half is of the aurora.
not so good. It's been continually cloudy over Reykjavík. I saw one good burst which was when that photo was taken. However, a more dedicated photographer than I, who's willing to go out of town and wait the whole night for a break in the clouds is likely to have gotten something out of it But I am going out of town today and I see there's a chance of some activity over the weekend so I have my fingers crossed
