Dude, we all deserve more attention. You're probably voicing what most of us are thinking about our own art, but it's pretty frustrating to see a post like yours. Although it's nice to be direct and honest, you're just flat out asking for people to give you attention, when a lot of us have been working to scrape in as much feedback as possible by giving others as much feedback as possible. It's like coming home from a hard day at work then having a stranger ask you for your money.
Your art is pretty nice, and I'll look through your gallery to see if there's some stuff I'd like to favorite, but my honest advice to you is to not post things like this in the future. It really frustrates people, as you've probably noticed from the comments you've been receiving. You're a good artist, but if you want more fans you'll need to work on public relations.
You don't deserve anything you haven't earned. You're mean to people, act like you're much more talented than you actually are, and are an admitted troll. Change your attitude towards DA, towards art and towards the people who might show you some of the attention you so desperately crave, and then you might actually get more than the snarky comebacks and insults you've been receiving recently.
You have potential, but you need a lot of work. To compare (though she works in a lot of medias, and I wouldn't call her ideal, either) I would show you this person [link] and you are nowhere close. In many of your paintings, you put details that gets a little lost- there is too much detail in confined areas with large brush strokes that one cannot figure out what it is. (The bottom of the last one you posted is a good example)
I might not be representative of everybody, but if you want me to say about you "this person is absolutely great" it doesn't take a pretty picture. Make a point. Say something. Ask a question. Put your deepest beliefs and perceptions into your work. That is what art is about. In that last one you posted, you are moving that direction. You might be getting there with some others in your gallery, but frankly, I can't tell what some are.
I will give you that people in this thread have been a bit... crass. My intent is purely constructive. However, to be completely honest, you haven't dealt with criticism well. If you don't like what I've said, block me now, I absolutely do not care. If you want to blast what I've done to try to justify what you have, I have no great love for anything I've done- it is absolutely worse that what you have. However, if you're willing to have an actually dialog about it, by all means, I'd be happy for it.
Lastly, in the end, it doesn't fucking matter what attention you deserve. Countless artist have come to light years after their deaths. There are would-be-greats that will never see the light of day. And a hundred fold more never even got the chance. If I'm wrong and your work is absolutely amazing, unfortunate as it may be, it's still a one-in-a-thousand chance anybody will give a shit. I'm not trying to be insulting, just realistic.

Honestly about that link, we do two different things but you could have reached further than post that. Her art isn't that good. First we are night and day. Second I prefer my art over hers. It is bolder, lines are more expressive, and my colors are more unique and vivid.
This is my favorite of hers from her first page:
This is my favorite from my first page: If you are completely honest with yourself you'd see I am a the better artist than the one you posted. I just ain't impressed with her at all, and i would never want to paint like her. Its kitschy and overly sentimental. Her anatomy is off a lot and her colors are too subdue.
...is in the style of impressionism. It suppose to give you an impression of something. Its actually done really well and is too better than that artist's best work. I think you need to search from impressionist work because you seem like you are making a judgment based on a limited understanding of art history. I think what it boils down is personal preference than capability.
You seriously need to get kicked off of your high horse. You're average at best, you keep posting the same mediocre painting of some stoned chick in a shower cap with a road growing out of her shoulder and claiming its your best piece ever when 90% of the art in !Kalaidon's gallery shows much more skill than anything in yours. You seem to think that just because you do oil paintings means you're better than anyone else. That assumption is wrong.
Why only oil paintings? Aren't digital paintings, watercolors, and acrylic just as good? It's not the medium, it's the art. I understand if you are looking for oil art as a theme, but it sure seems like you are being biased by medium, which is kind of like racism with art. I may be wrong, but it seems to me like you are trying to find other people who, like you, "deserve attention" because of their medium. I will certainly check out your gallery, but I thought I should point that out. Also, saying you deserve attention is like saying you deserve to rule the world. Everyone deserves to be happy, but that's one way to bring yourself down. I clicked on this thread because I thought it might be one of those threads where you encourage people to feel better about themselves by saying they deserve more. This thread, however, is offensive. While yes, much of the time stats are not a show of skill, this is not the way to approach it. Good luck with your art, keep painting! -Riza

you sound so fucking stupid though. Do you say that when people make literature threads or anime. Think about it. I said "Also, if you are an OIL PAINTER, feel free to drop a few thumbs. I will comment. ONLY OIL PAINTERS." I don't understand how you assume anything else. THINK!
No, I did not mean that. I meant that following what you had previously said, it sounded like you were biased. It seemed to me like what you were saying was, "I am an oil painter. I deserve attention. Any other oil painters that deserve attention, please let me know." As if oil painting is why you are so great. I do think. I think more than most people. I know this because people bug me about how I think too much. Also, please use proper grammar and conventions. That is more annoying than anything.

You are such a hypocrite! First you post a thread saying that watches and favs don't mean you're a great artist and than you post a thread begging for it as validation. You have so much pride in what you do that you come off as such a snob and reject anyone else's comments as naive because you're better than them yet you complain when you don't get validation from the very people your alienating.
Your art has a place in this world just like everyone else's, and compliments don't have to be from well to do people to have value here. That's just a guideline you have in your head which is hurting you. Have some humility and recognize you're good at the style of art you enjoy, and learn to appreciate others and BE HELPFUL. You want comments? Comment on someone's work, you want fav's and watches? Do it to someone else! Do into others what you would like done unto you! But if your a jerk, people are going to be rude right back to you. And these people your being a jerk to, are possible watches and comments and favs
I'm really sorry, (nope, I'm kidding....) but I don't think you "deserve" more attention.
1. No one "deserves" attention. You're lucky if you manage to have it, but you don't deserve it. It's like health. You don't deserve it, but you can be happy if you're healthy. You don't deserve hands. You were lucky to be born with them.
2. You don't know how to behave. You wrote somewhere that "beeing nice" is the same as "acting". Well, no. I'm rather nice to other people, not because I'm acting, but because I know how to behave. In that sense, every ineraction between living beings is "acting", yes, but what you do is just simply behavior fitting for a 4-years-old.
3. I actually don't like your art. I don't say you can't paint, I just don't like it. You use a lot of colours that don't match, you simplyfy your motives and you use rather broad strokes. That's been done a lot. Everyone who does that is a bit different, sure, realism tends to be more easy to compare, but the idea is nothing new. There is actually nothing really innovative, no new subjects, no new tecniques. And all your art does look the same to me. Nothing stands out. There is nothing that would suggest even the smalest bit of expieriencing and thus, getting better. You seem to be OK with what you can do, and you want attention for it. No, I don't think your art projects over 10 years of expierience, and I'm not really crazy about it.
In love, someone who is still playing nice, but ist actually fed up with your behaviour, especially with saying you're better than others who criticise you.

says some one who's art is so overly sentimental that it looks like it was ripped str8 from the pages of a JcPenny's catalog. I would MUCH rather paint like i am painting now that CLAIM one of your paintings as mine even temporarily.
Uh... Two things: One, why is sentimentality bad? Two: why are you leetspeaking? Because that's one of the most annoying things in the history of the universe. Oh, another thing- claiming paintings as your own is just a jerk move anyway. Are you saying you'd claim others' art as your own? That makes you an art thief. That is illegal, immoral, and all around dumb and rude.
