I've been doing realistic pokémon art for a while now. But i'm really interested in pokémon art of other people. If you want i can give feedback and critics.
I know this is delayed: I was hesitating to say anything until I got a few more poké works under my belt (although there are MANY more, particularly colored pieces, that I'm currently working on or planning, too). I just finished touching up some other pieces recently, so now I can see what you think. I greatly enjoy your work (which is why I watch you of course), so I'm curious to see what you think I could do to improve my work's impact (other than more shading and background on some since I do many simple "reference page" pieces).
I hope you don't find this offensive, but here's some critiquing: To be honest, when I looked at the thumbnails you displayed here, I wasn't very impressed. BUT when I clicked the thumbnail, I was shocked by all the details! Up close, they look fantastic, but from a far not as much. I think the problem lies in the way you paint the shading and lighting--you have to work more on the rendering. I'm not good at this myself, so I can't offer too much, but just letting you know what i noticed...^^ Hope to see you improve even more~
