Anyone heard of Wubi? It's a new Ubuntu installer (Linux) and it works great! It runs just like a normal windows application. A link to the website can be found here: [link]
I run 3 Linux O/S on a server ...so I tried the new Wubi Kubuntu installer on my Windows XP Pro PC ...It would not set screen rez right or download any new patches or add ons with the adept so I un installed and tried the Ubuntu ..and the Ubuntu is better totally works has nice compiz and ...I like having a dual boot windows and ubuntu For my server I am using the 64 bit programs and also recently began using the Kubuntu KDE 4 remix wow a totally beautiful program a totally new face for KDE ..I have used over 15 Linux distros from FSF to SuSe before and after Novell as well as Knopix ( wow try out the new version 5.3.1 ) Redhat has now totally merged with Fedora and The Gentooand Sun Microsystems are a bit harder to master and require code in...But by and large Ubuntu has come an incredible way in just a few years to make stable rleases every 6 months and the newest hardy heron 8:04 is proof and with the Wubi will only get better Wubi is not on my 64 bit ddsk its a total install not a dual boot....But run 4 O/S with cold swap drives Kubuntu KDE 4 remix is a full install too no Wubi on it as yet it installs the old debian safe mode way but is a totally radical program !
I dont get this at all, ubuntu is particular keeps adding crap upon crap, bloat to n'th degree... Whats wrong with a slack or arch ncurses based installer? I see a disaster coming soon, all these new linux users installed it cause it was easy, wait till they have to fix something manually without cute little buttons to push....
adding crap? they use the same software in every release, just updated. The only crap they added was compiz fusion, quick user switch, and more drivers to support more computers.
Then again ubuntu is ment to appeal to the common user, not the linux guru.
