I have a MacBook that I bought last year. I believe the screen is a 13.3 inch one.
It is completely unusable since I dropped it on the floor in the middle of the night.
My warranty is limited and it will cost me 750 or more to fix it.
Please! Any tips on how I can save this machine cheaper? I paid 1800 for it last summer but I will be saving for a car this summer and cannot afford that charge!

If you have a local computer place that specializes in Apple's you MIGHT (very slim) have a chance of getting it fixed for a bit less. Otherwise, you might as well get yourself a monitor and use it as a desk machine.
Yes, that may be the best option for now. I have found some screens on ebay and they cost around 200. There are tutorials on how to set it up. I just have to make the money!
Yes, next time I WILL buy the warranty.

Warranty doesn't apply in this case. He dropped it. Warranty only covers defects, not damage. He would have needed insurance to cover breakage.
DO you have homeowner's insurance? Renters insurance? If so you could inquire, otherwise, you're out of luck.
You could sell the laptop on eBay for parts. ($300-$400 maybe) Make some of the money back and apply that toward a new machine. Or find parts on eBay from other MacBooks. They are so new though, that parts won't be so easy to find.
Sorry to hear. I've done it before myself, it hurts like hell. Good luck.
Macbook screens are going for about $160 on ebay. I'd get one of them and either fix it myself or take it to someone who could do it for you. Gonna be a lot cheaper than having Apple fix it.
