This is why I stopped advertising for artists here and instead just look for people through searches and just send them what I need with some examples and exactly what I pay. They either want to do it or not or the compensation rate works or not, and I don't waste much of their or my time. While I don't always agree with the comments of the artists and the publishers and people seeking artists, we all have a reputation and your reputation is enhanced if you are courteous. No one on either side is benefitted by being impolite and I agree that people should post their pay or range and artist should not criticize it and let the system work.

But can you please refer ROUGHLY your budget so artists know if your budget is too low/not close for their usual budget?

If it is too low, they don't waste their time .

Even it is too low, I can still contact the artists who might be interested in working for that specific budget range.

So it'd be easier for both of us if you mention the rough range in your mind.

Hello Alex. I've sent emails to you regarding both this one and your previous project, but I've received nothing from you. I'd like to suggest that you acknowledge the artists who contacted you, and explain that you won't be needing them for the project - and, if you want to do something that's extra helpful, explain why the artist isn't what you're looking for (at least a bit more specific than "I have my reasons").

I understand that everyone that posts here probably receives a huge amount of replies, but a much better use of your time and the artists' would be gained if you had the courtesy to respond to the emails or notes (it avoids repeated emails from artists you don't want, and frees the artist to pursue other endeavors). I'm not scolding you or anything like that, it's just an example of better practice that I've seen been ignored a lot lately, which is a bit of a shame.
