Hello! Our company is working on its first publicly announced game called Novasvita. We are now moving into development stages and are going to be needing art for our prototype coming out in March. Our game is futuristic and has a perspective extremely similar to that of Zelda: The Minish Cap and some of the high contrasting colors and vibrancy of Bastion.
We have a total of 3 positions available that pay per piece over the coarse of 4-5 months. As a Scaevitas artist, you will need all of 4 skills:
*Ability to work on a team of artists in order to complete 2D static images, 2D Sprites, and 2D Animations. *Ability to freehand draw and create conceptual art based on descriptions given. *Strong understanding of game play from the user’s perspective. *An eye for beauty, and initiative to make the game as such. *Professionalism
**To begin the application process, please email Jobs(at)Scaevitas(dot)com with 1. A short paragraph about yourself. 2. Portfolio 3. A short blurb on past experience/ a resume (SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY). We will then ask you to perform a written interview and sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before doing some samples.** We will respond promptly and would like to receive the same promptness.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in the position, we will ask you to present a sample a little later on in the process (however, for the better of both parties, please watermark it).
We will ONLY accept questions on this Thread, all thread replies concerning applications will be ignored.
P.S. Working here is fun! We just have to remain professional publicly. Please do not be intimidated by the application process at all.
I have a question, are all of the 3 positions require 2d static images, sprites and animation skills or one position is for 2d static images, one for sprites and one for animation??
All of the positions are multi-skilled. We want to get people who can do everything, not just one specific task over and over. So, yes, all three positions require ability to do 2D static images, sprites, animations, and concept artwork. Although, if you only specialize in one or two of those areas, we will still consider you, if you are good.
Hello, I've been working on iphone/ipad games for around a year now. My first question before delving into the application process would be how much are you offering as payment?
It it can pay up to 6,000 dollars over the coarse of 3-4 months. However, it does not pay hourly, it pays per commission. So if the position holder does not work or does not work well, they won't get much. But if they take initiative and do all the artwork that they can to the best of their ability, they will be making more. It all depends on what you put into it! It is part time, though.
