Artists for short comic stories (appx 6 pages)
Hey,
So I'm a writer looking to artist for work on some story comics, mainly around 6 pages but a few are longer. I'm hoping to use them to launch a webcomic that would be a Tales from the Crypt type anthology in January. I have about ten stories done, but would like a few more going before I launch. Since I'm a broke write I'm only paying $10 a page. The pages need to be finished artwork (inked). I can letter and color is optional.
Some of the stories:
Horror --
LOOK INSIDE -- the story of Little Red Riding Hood's little brother and his encounter with the wolf that killed his sister.
DUMP SITE -- when he is passed over for promotion, a man kills his boss and dumps his body in the middle of the woods during a family camping trip. However, the body attracts predators that now threaten his family's life.
FEAST -- a giant feast of the wealthiest families in town goes awry when the guests become possessed and try to devour everything in sight...including their own children.
FAIREST OF THEM ALL -- a retelling of Sleeping Beauty where the magic mirror is the one manipulating the innocent queen, turning her against her step daughter.
THE CHILDREN -- when demons overrun a small town, the parents make a deal with a demon who promises to get rid of the other demons if the town gives him each of the first born children.
FAMILY TOMB (longer) -- a man inherits an estate and becomes fascinated by the family tomb only to discover the caretakers like to bury people while they are still alive.
ANOTHER COUPLE -- a married couple have fun pretending to be another couple, but when the wife decides she prefers the imaginary life it threatens to destroy the relationship.
Comedy --
A BUSINESSMAN IN HELL -- the devil hires a businessman to help make Hell more efficient, only to find himself in a power struggle for control of the nether realm from the very man he hired.
WICKED FAIRIES -- Cinderella's step sisters want fairy godmothers of their own, so Cinderella's fairy helps get wicked fairies for the wicked step-sisters.
BABYSITTING -- after her last job goes bad, the only babysitting job a young teen can get is at a haunted house.
STARVING WITCHES -- during summer, starving witches from the forest come to the city looking for food where they encounter a very unsympathetic Hansel and Gretel.
If you like the idea of doing a story, but don't see anything that grabs you just let me know. I've got more ideas and will be happy to work with people until they have something that really excites them.
Let me know if you are interested!

I am a Freelance Artist and Illustrator adept in Graphite, Charcoal, Prismacolor, Acrylics and Pen and Ink. I work from my Home Studio in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on a Commissioned and Contracted basis.
I favor the Old School techniques and styles of my Illustrative Heroes. Those being, Drew Struzan, Frank Frazetta, Boris Vallejo/Julie Bell, Doug Chiang, Ralph McQuarrie, Luis Royo and Richard Amsel. In other words, everything I do is hand rendered. No digital. Not that I have anything against Digital Art, it's just that I appreciate it more when I do it by hand.

Thanks for the interest in the stories. You have some cool illustrations. Do you have any sequential samples?
Hey! I'm happy you like what I do. I'm sorry I do not have any sequential work. But I'm absolutely positive that I could do it without a hitch. I've been drawing since before I could walk and painting not to long after that and I'm almost 46 now. I'm pretty sure that what I could produce would satisfy you. But that wouldn't be good enough for me. I intend to wow you and nothing less.
Hey -- sorry for delay getting back to you. Been a crazy week. The problem with not having sequentials is it's hard to get a feel for what sorry your art would work with. It's like trying to hire an actor from a headshot without seeing them delivering lines. Also, if you've never done comic book work before it's a lot harder than it looks. It's not just drawing a couple panels, it's understanding the flow of the story, connecting elements, page both the panels work and the page as a whole work. Of all the illustrators I've tried to work with, I don't think any of them have finished -- they just realized there was too much they didn't understand and it got to be too much work.
That said, part of the idea of the website is as break-in projects and you have some interesting illustrations, so if you want to give it a try I'll see if I can find a story that's a good fit for you.

Well I love comics and you are correct, I've never illustrated one before. I love your actor analogy! Brilliant.
That being said, I like challenges. And if you are willing to work with me and answer the odd question, I'm still in.

Thanks for the interest. I don't think your style fits the stories I have free right now. If I come up with something in the next couple weeks I'll let you know.
I would be interested. I only have some old sequential samples uploaded at the moment, but take a look and let me know if you'd be interested.
I can upload some more current ones later in the week.
