We're a Los Angeles based small indie games studio that specializes on iOS. We have a collaboration of seasoned artists and in-house developers/musicians from various fields.
We're looking for Japanese/Korean styled anime illustrations for an iOS game. We are planning to launch in late October 2012 and there's quite a lot of work! So, we're hiring 3-5 different artists that can mimic the style we're looking for.
We are staying away from anything that looks "disney". We have a detailed explanation of what we're looking for in the URL below which also includes examples of too much detail or too much quality.
Paid. Work-for-hire. Realistic.
NDA & contract signatures will be required if you are added to the team.
Please take a look our job description in the URL. If this style is something your comfortable with, we would looooooove to hear from you!
As BoxCat, we to start projects every 3-6 months. Our goal is to make great games and push great quality. We especially enjoy working with those that may have been like ourselves; Who never got a chance to break into the gaming industry.
We are self-funded and can be as creative as it is reasonable to do so.
My name's Aaron Liu from Robekka Art Studio. I just saw your thread posted on [link] , in which we are very interested. Please take a few minutes to have a look at our site, robekka.deviantart.com or www.robekka.com. We've worked on a number of mangas and comics before. We have an established team and can provide stable and reliable art support to your project. We also have quicker turnaround than individuals. We can start the work right away. We can do you a sketches for sample if necessary.
Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in our service.
I'm a bit concerned about this projects art direction. Even if you aren't aiming to the stars in quality the examples you give can be interpreted in many different ways so I fear you'll end up with three different approaches in the same game if you aren't careful. I assume you'll figure that out after the selection is done?
I love the 16 bit RPG era so game projects like these I really care about. Presentation matters and your customers will notice things like that.
We love the 16-bit era too. Many favorites: Chrono Trigger especially.
You highlight a great point, it's definitely a challenge to overcome. Our advantage is that we have an experienced lead artist that is part of the core team. We'll be relying on their coordination and sweat-work to guide the ship out of rough waters.
Hi there, I'm interested in this and was going to apply via LinkedIn but it seems simpler here and it's easier for me anyway since I don't have a LinkedIn account haha. Unless there's another way to reply? But it didn't show up on my screen!
Umm anyway, i'm an anime artist (please see my gallery for example), and of course I can very easily simplify my style to use less or no gradients, and I can shade in a very flat coloured way if you wish. I do enjoy games though I haven't played any for a while lol, but I have played the Tales games. And i've done work on visual novels, character design and may start work on a different game project which sounds similar to this project soon, so please contact me as soon as possible if my skillset/examples seems attractive to you & your team!
(Please note the majority of my work is not uploaded to my gallery by request of my clients.)
