My name is Matt Duffield and I am currently looking to get my comic published, at the moment its only a script and am looking for an artist. I need an artist familiar with western superhero comicbook styles.
Just to let you know a little bit about my project, its about a man who gained empathic powers and tried to become a superhero. After obviously failing miserably he ended up settling for becoming a psychiatrist and exploiting his powers, which has lead him down a dark path filled with substance abuse. Its a tale with dark themes, set in a bright hopeful comic superhero world. It examines, through meetings with his clients, what it is to be a superhero, as well as what it is to be a normal citizen, after being saved from these traumatic experiences. We also get to delve in to what it like to be caught between both worlds through our protagonist. Its a fresh look at the superhero genre.
Its a very mature piece touching very raw themes such as substance abuse, suicide, post traumatic stress, sex and depression.
So now down to the nitty gritty, I cant pay much to begin with (the little money I do have will be focused on printing and sending to publishers), but im happy to negotiate a royalty based payment.
