Just as the title says, I need a custom cosplay made, as do my other friends! We're looking for price ranges at the moment so we can see just how great our expenses will be. There are a LOT of us, so if you'd like to be one of many Cosplay makers, let us know by replying here OR sending me a note. I'll provide the rest of the information once that has been done. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and for showing interest in this deal. :]
alright, do you have sketches or ideas of how you want your outfits to look like, types of fabrics you want to use and/or accessories that are part of the outfit? this will give me a better idea of price range and time length it'll take for about how much it could cost.
For now, this is the only design we need made, a Hatsune Mikuo rendition of Hatsune Miku's 'Sandplay Singing of the Dragon' outfit. [link]
The lineart is color keyed, here's the colors, however.
Coat and pants - Black with gold detailing. Gold detailing can be in whatever way, shape or form you want it to be, as long as it looks good! The coat-cuffs are dark/wine red with golden cufflinks.
Vest - Dark purple with gold buttons and golden material interlinking each button, gold or black designs at the top folds of the vest, your choice.
Undershirt - White undershirt, preferably long-sleeved, with black or white ruffles coming out from beneath the cuffs of the coat. (Can be black or white lace.)
Cravat - Same dark red color as the cuffs, with a blue gem embedded in the center of it with a golden outer ring (basically kind of what princess peach wears on the chest of her dress, only smaller). Golden fabric ties around the neck, going under the cravat.
Hat (Optional) - Black with dark purple ribbon tied around it, draping down in similar manner. (The ribbon can actually be see-through purple fabric as well.) Black fishnet/tulle fabric wrapped around the ribbon.
Cane (Optional) - Black rod, dark purple and black fishnet/tulle wrapped around the top of the shaft in similar style to the top hat. Golden 'gem' holster with a purple ball inside the holster.
As for material, anything satin-like. Something breathable, even if it's just cotton or polyester, but I want it to look formal... (Not very skilled in the fabric-speak.)
Here's my estimate, what you want is going to be between $200-300. These are my estimates to get the outfit made. fabric- $60-80 buttons/accessories- $20-30 thread- $20 paint- unknown shipping and handling- unknown time and labor - unknown
my suggesting with the pants and the dress shirt, is to buy a cheap pair and modify them. reason for this is; 1. pants are tricky to make and you want to make sure they'll fit you properly. 2. from the picture, you really don't see the dress shirt. 3. it'll be cheaper to modify pre-existing clothes than to make them from scratch.
The hat would probably be additional charge; if the idea is to modify a pre-existing hat. If not, I do not have the skills to make a hat.
The cane, I do not have the equipment to make this. But what I can do to make sure the fabric on the cane matches with the rest of the outfit, is put the fabric together and give it to you. And when you get the cane, you would be able to attach it.
Oh, wow, that's a lot. I only have 145 bucks in my Paypal -for now- Q.Q
I'm fairly sure I can get dress pants and shirt, it's just the modifications that are a pain, because I have no clue how to do that. (I can't even sew, I'm a sad excuse for a cosplayer Q.Q)
fabric can get very expensive. You'll think it doesn't take too much to make an outfit, but just making a sleeve can take almost 2ft going around the arm alone. I am very professorial when it comes to sewing outfit. I know if I go for cheap linen fabrics, they'll tear at the seem line. Coats and vest needs to have a lining because the edges will fray without it do to wearing it. What you're asking for is a laid back Victorian style, but there's still a lot of hand details, like the gold paint, ruffles, buttons. That's also apart of the price because it takes a lot of time. Also you are asking for a full costume, not just one or two articles of clothing.
I hope you understand why my price is the way it is.
Yes, I understand! ^ ^ It's a lot of work, just like the people who make large paintings and such.
Hm... So, it'd be around 200-300 dollars in total? I might have a friend make the cane and hat for me, so that's not an issue, but the actual costume itself would be about 200-300 bucks, yes?
