I've never had a scanner before, but I think I seriously need one! All this time I've been using a digital camera, and it conpletely ruins my work! Does anyone have a good suggestion for a good(yet cheap!) scanner?

A letter size scanner would be good enough for you. Popular brands are HP and Canon. New price from a place like OfficeMax you might spend as little as $80 and up. On eBay used models go for as little as $15 plus shipping. You take your chances with these. Though I did buy my Mustek A3 scanner from an eBay dealer it was new for $175.
