I swear to BOB if I read one more poem that mentions slitting their wrist I'm going to do mine. Come on people do you not have anything better to say than this? Can you not think of a better way to kill your self off?

Vampy-Nyx, you have to admit...

By the dull and rusty blade,
the skin was torn asunder;
My life pours forth, as I fade,
pondering this worrisome blunder.

...sounds WAY cooler than...

The chainsaw continued to growl,
Fierce and menacing as it worked across the floor;
away from my bisected torso
and steadily marching towards the door.

Yes. I jest. Or do I?

Here we go again....

Yes. Angst and cutting poetry is rampant.
Yes, it is usually of poor quality.

So, what are you going to do about it?
If all you are doing is creating yet ANOTHER thread for the sole purpose of bitching about it.... been there, done that a metric shitload of times before.

So... what are YOU going to do about it?
Don't just whine like an angsty prat. Put forward practical ideas for improving the situation.

Benedictions.

For once I am inclined to agree.

Oh shit... I think that means I am doomed.
Must go be a goody-two-shoes for an hour or two to recover my grace....

LOL I think they both sound good.
The reason behind this post is beacuse I was in the new submissions of dark poetry, and I read five poems in a role. Each poem was based on how they were going to slit there wrist, nothing more. I was thinking to my self can they not come up with somthing more?

Yes, I'm partially venting, but I'm also expressing a idea of improvment. Stop writing poetry about just slitting your wrist! Either create a new way to kill yourself off or get on some happy pills. Advice in a thread, are you happy?

It's ok, just hit your head a few times, it'll take care of it.

Now I have this insatiable urge to listen to Dead Man's Party. Bah!

You are telling people to stop writing about it 'because you don't like it'.

Why not 'Try writing about it in a more artistic way, grow in your skills, so that eventually you will move on, and become a better writer'.

Everybody has to start somewhere. Some starting points are less pallatable than others.
But telling a writer 'Don't write about the things that mean something to you' is tantamount to saying 'Don't bother trying to become a decent poet.'

You should be encouraging the improvement of technique. NOT discouraging the love of the craft.
With improved technique comes the desire to experiment. That is when a poet tends to break away from old themes. It doesn't happen because someone bitches about them.
