Artist looking for writer with *developed* ideas

[x]
:icongenialmute:
I actually do not like dA forums at all, but what the heck. I've found that I have loads of free time between now and August, and I'm a bit sick of looking at my own characters. So! Here's the deal for you:

If you have well-developed OCs, but little to no skill with a pencil, I can sketch them out for you. :) For, like, free.
I can skeeetch.. scenes (important, humorous, etc.) and character concepts (so long as you have a vivid description or an inspiring theme).

I like fantasy, so bonus points for you if you want me to draw that--but I'm flexible, I won't suffocate if you want me to delve into another genre. :XD:

There likely won't be any ungodly detail unless
A. I really, really like you.
B. You are a writing God.
C. You are a hypnotist.
D. All of the above.
So expect basic stuff, please. :)

I'm not looking to start a webcomic, but if I like your ideas enough, I may be tempted.

Currently I don't really have any up-to-date images to show you what I'm capable of, but if you really need one or two then don't hesitate to comment saying so.

Lastly: Don't be intimidated! You never know till you try.

Are you still up for that offer? I've been writing a fanfiction (other character) for Twilight (yes I know, very cliche but I've tried to make it good and interesting/ exciting. People say they love it and want more after 16 chapters so far, so I guess its not too bad, haha). But unless you have some deep ( and I mean DEEP, not just a minor annoyance, haha) hatred toward the Twilight series, you could always check it out and see if you have any ideas for sketches inspired by it and/or like the story. I'd leave up to you to see if you like it enough to draw something based off of it.
And, its fantasy obviously, because its the twilight world. It's actually more than likely even more fantasy than Twilight, but the story hasnt gotten to the point quite yet where you could see what I'm referring to.

Anyway, if you're interested, let me know and I'll send you the link to the fanfiction. =)

PS. I love art too, but I'm not completely to the point where I'd know how to pull off a drawing of my visions for the story. I have much to learn about making drawings from my imagination. But I've always wondered how other people imagine my story in their own mind, if they picture it the same way I do.
:icongenialmute:
Ah, sorry, I really don't like that series at all. :) and I've found someone really sorry!
:iconjennahh92:
Haha a lot of people don't, but then a lot do. It's kind of a guilty pleasure to me. Except I don't worship it like other people do, and I'm actually pretty annoyed with the hype. But oh well. It's very fun to write an OC based off of it, and I've spent a lot of time working on the plot and things.

And I thought what the heck, maybe I'd ask you. But thats alrighttt, its no problemo. Wish ya luck on your drawings. =)
:icongenialmute:
Oh, that's great for you! :) For a moment I was scared you might bite my head off ("U DON REIK TWAIIILIIIIIGGGHHHTTTTT????!!?") despite what you previously said. :XD: Good to come across the occasional understanding fan, thank you for existing!

Has the hype died down yet, by the way? I've been avoiding Twilight news since about a year ago. ._.
:iconjennahh92:
lol yeah, I can understand why people dont like it, in some ways I don't but I did enjoy it. And yeah haha I hate it when people get pissed when when someone doesnt like it. Not everyone likes the same thing.

And it hasn't died down yet, like at all. But you can expect it to get even worse as we get closer to November, because the next movie for New Moon is going to come out in theaters on the 21st I think. And then there are 2 more books that they'll most likely make movies out of, and the last is possibly going to be made into two movies. lmao. People are still obsessed and it's as if you cant escape twilight merch in stores anymore. lol

may I ask why you don't like it though? I promise I wont bite your head off, hahah, I'm just curious. Have you read it?
:icongenialmute:
Why I don't like it? Well, mainly the author's attitude, actually. That and the hype makes the book look way worse than it is. Other than that, the fact that her vampires... are barely vampires. They're closer to ~gods~, really, there's hardly a point in calling them vampires. ._. Only thing they have in common with vampires is their diet. You know Sylar from Heroes? He eats brains, yeah? Does that make him a zombie?

Mm, also how Bella is sooo beautiful and wonderful that she has five guys (six if you include how James focuses on her) sniffing her butt, how Edward is considered "perfect" (no one is, for one, )
... The fact that people consider her writing like that of a bible despite the fact that she writes like fanfiction..
Oh, and the fact that even the author herself hails BellaxEdward as "twue ruv". It ain't. :) True love is seeing through a person's flaws and accepting them for who they really are. 'Course that has to be done by both sides though.
Uhm, everyone in the books focus on perfection and looks and... HOMG BABIEZ. if ur a wimmin u are nuffin if u don hav babiez. That's the vibe that realllly emanates from the last book. But back to outward appearance. When Bella describes someone, in addition, she tends to stick to their appearance. Their hair, more often. No "he looks shifty" or "she looks like she'd have a nice personality" or nada, just "he has hair as greasy as it is black".. or whatever she said.

And something less important, the fact that they tag previews and ads of Twilight onto every other teenage movie. Wtf lol? :XD:
... I think that's it, but I might be forgetting something lol.;; I haven't really had to tell anyone my reasons in.. probably a year, and it's been a while since I've read the bloody things. XD I don't quite "HATE" the series anymore, I just really really want it to leave me alone.

Have you read the excerpts of cleolinda? If no, google them right now. "cleolinda Twilight".
Also, I just woke up. <w< If something doesn't make sense, that's why. Tell me and I'll fix it or somethin'. And that's all I can think of saying right now.
:iconjennahh92:
ahaha, well I agree with a lot of that, and some of the things you brought to my attention too. Bella, and I suppose every other character, do seem a little (or more than a little) shallow. I laughed at how you said five guys sniffing her butt by the way. It reminds me of how my dog annoys the crap out of my cat. lmao, sorry, getting off track a bit.
And yeah, I understand what you mean about people thinking her writing is better than it really is. Like, theres teachers (sisters middle school teacher) who claim that it will be a classic. That made me angry, because it is more wish fullfillment than a classic. Classics have like themes, something to learn from it. But twilight does not. I couldnt imagine studying Twilight in school as if it were How to Kill a mockingbird or something along those lines.

And about how love is looking past flaws and loving people for who they are, I completely agree with that. No one is perfect, and I fnd that flaws is what makes people interesting, and who they are. In my Story (OC) I have the girl love the vamp guy BECAUSE of his flaws. She says that he is perfect, but not like Edward. He is perfect in her eyes because of his flaws. Hopefully that makes sense and I'm wording that correctly.
But yeah, I totally agree. In real life, that is exactly how it is, and I couldnt imagine dating a guy who really was perfect. That would make things boring almost, and not realistic.

And ahah i know, like how Bandslam is trying to get more viewers by saying theres a sneak peak of new moon. And you CANNOT escape twilight, I've realized. Its everwhere, in the form of twilight merch or even just Robert Pattinson posters EVERYWHERE. lmao. Its entertaning in an annoying way.

And I'm sorry for bringing it up then, hahah. Since you want it to leave you alone, lol.

But ohh, lol I never heard if that, but it was funny.

Hmm, but thanks for the opinionss lol. I'm going to use that as what NOT to do when writing. Its probably really easy to make such mistakes. I love to write, and I'm still kind of starting out (like practice), so I doubt I'm any better than myers. I think the reason shes not that great at writing though, or at least my theory, is because she wasnt a pro. She just had that dream or whatever and got to writing. I don't think that she had any previous expertise. I think she was just rookie that won the jackpot in the world of storytelling.
Writers probably need more experience, realistically, to get as famous. By then hopefully their writing skills have improved. Thats why I'm kinda practicing now, even though I'm not sure if I'd even do anything with the practice or not.
Its just kind of a fun hobby to me.
:icongenialmute:
Hm, you're a sweet kid. :) You shouldn't be writing fanfiction for Ursula. (Admit it, you see the resemblance, too!)
Why not make your own original story? I might be interested in doing a couple of sketches then, in exchange for some prose. ;D

And the reason Meyer sucks is because she shuts out all criticism, pretends it doesn't exist. Heck, she was an English major, she probably had plenty of experience. Doing the same thing over and over again, that is. The only people who can truly grow are those willing to listen.
:iconjennahh92:
lol, thanks, =)
and Ursula from The little mermaid? ahaha, idk. its possible. lol

And I probably will eventually, but since I'm only like half way through my story, I think I'll just just stick to it for a while. I've developed it a lot and have been working on it since November-ish(haha), so I still have that drive to just complete the story. ya know?

And yeah, that also makes sense. I didnt know she was an english major. I agree, if you going to get better you need to use constructive critism to improve.
