We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. Last year it was fan art based on “villains” and this year it has a similar theme, this time it will be:
“Heath Ledger’s Joker from The Dark Knight”
Yes, yes fan girls and boys (but mainly girls, right?) this one will be right up your street! Want to know more? Then read on my pretties….
PLAY BY MY RUUUULES…WHAT’S INVOLVED?
Please read the rules carefully
I want you all to create a wonderful piece of artwork based around Heath Ledger’s character in The Dark Knight (who is still widely popular and successful).
You may use any artistic medium you like to create your piece of art (e.g. sculpture, oil paints, acrylics, ink, pastels, coloured pencils, digital airbrushing and painting).
I will be judging on various aspects you brought into the piece. The more you add, the better your chance of winning. I will be scoring points for:
-TECHNIQUE
-COMPOSITION
-THOUGHTS AND IDEAS
-LIKENESS TO HEATH LEDGER
But most importantly:
-ORIGINALITY
You will be given extra commendation if you include a background, location or setting in your piece.
NO SKETCH SUBMISSIONS PLEASE!

Completed Deviant entries MUST have been submitted in 2009 ONLY.
Please note me your entries, plus a short pitch of about 3-5 sentences or so, explaining your technique, chosen medium, your thoughts behind the piece and why you think it should win.
Entries will be displayed in my journal once submitted.
Only enter if you are willing/allowed to give me your postal address, as prizes must be sent to your residence.

IDEAS, INSPIRATIONS AND THINGS TO THINK ABOUT
To help you along with your ideas for your artwork, I composed a few things for you to mull over and think about.
Study my deviation “Love is Chaos, Beautiful…”
If you can tap into my psyche and train of thought with your artwork, you will get extra bonus points.
What do I mean by that?
Try and think like I do. What scenarios, ideology, or sexual tension do I portray in my work that makes it attractive, dark and appealing to fellow Joker fans? Is it the inner desire to create your ultimate fantasy like the artist Tom of Finland?
How do I do this?
Gather imagery and sources from all around you to work from, and blend them together, and compose a piece of art to bring to life one of your wildest dreams…
The sexy but dangerous glint in his eye…
The leering smile…
Random clothes scattered on the floor and an unbuttoned shirt…
“I love you” written on the wall in blood…
Sometimes, it’s the smallest of details that attract the viewers’ attention and hold them there…staring... transfixed…If you understand these guides to create good fan art, then you will certainly catch mine!
Try not to simply copy what I have created, but be inspired by all these overly-helpful hints. Look at my Prismacolor tutorial for help on how to make a scene. Maybe a piece of fanfiction will inspire you visually, too.
It would be interesting to see a softer, more vulnerable side to The Joker. If someone could pull this off effectively, they would also get commendation.
