This thread is aimed to those wanting to buy digital cameras (point and shoot or digital SLR cameras) or lenses, the ideas is that before you come to ask something about an specific camera or lens you should read at least one review of the gear you want. The idea is also that you can filter all the PR misleading info many camera makers print, why? because it will help you do a more intelligent choice, this also saves you from the bias of "fanboy review" which isn't very useful at all (he/she will tell you the camera rocks because it has x brand label on it)
Camera review sites:
-the sites below contain samples JPGs images converted from RAW or straight of the camera JPGs, this will give you a more accurate representation of the image quality the camera you want can achieve, It isn't adviced to check image quality based on the images found here on deviantart since they could be little or heavily post processed-

Lens review sites:
A word of advice, 3rd party lenses (like Tokina, Tamron, Sigma, etc) are known because they don't have a stellar quality control, from one sample to other there may be big differences in terms of image quality, sample variation is a common problem with this lens makers (fully documented in the net), so if you want to buy one of those lenses, do it in a brick and mortar store where you can test it with your camera.
After reading the reviews if you have an specific question, you can start a thread to ask. Avoid the typical "Which should I get" thread, we can't tell you which camera or lens to buy, we can recommend in our humble opinion what is the camera or lens that is a bang for the bucks and specifically for lenses we can recommend which focal lengths are appropriate for different kinds of photos (landscapes, portraits, etc), but ultimately the choice should be made by yourself after a carefully read of the reviews.
you might want to add [link] to the lens reviews, great site for it, lots of user reviews from general users and also pro's, helped me alot for opinions. nice post btw.
