I'm looking for a new digital camera, and would like some help with choosing it.

My photos are usually outside photos, some landscape, but mostly people (not posed and studio photos. more like street photos).
Some stuff I really need is: a good quality screen, an EXCELLENT zoom, a good photos quality.
Also to note- I'm pretty much an amateur. All my photos 'till now were taken on the family point-and-shoot camera, so I don't need the best camera, simply one that will fit my style=]
Thanks to anyone who would help
RK

That's the question. We can recommend anything from a $50 film SLR to a medium format system that'll be over $20,000.

well, it cant cost more than 1,000$, but less might be nice^^

I just got the Canon Rebel XS and bought the extra 75-300mm lens. It's a really nice camera. It might run a little over a thousand, I'm not sure, but just a suggestion =)

No problem =)
I would just stick with a Nikon or Canon because they're really reliable for camera quality
