you are seeing them because they are special cases.
a combination of being exceptional and having provided all the neccessary permissions, and a little bit of fairy dust.
they are still not officially accepted.
So professionals are given special dispensation to break the rules set up by dA?
I don't mean to be overly argumentative but I feel that it seems that dA says one thing then promptly ignores it.
If it is said "we don't accept music videos" then don't accept them. However, it could be said "we accept music videos under certain circumstances, such as x and y. Each music video is assessed according to said criteria"
NO, thats just twisting my words.
we dont accept music videos as submissions no, have we made acceptions, yes. Most of them are artists we have sought out as film makers outside of DA and brought in.
as deviantart has made acceptions as every rule; it is DEVIANT art after all, and if we cant deviate in any way, we are not upholding our own name.
until we find a system that will allow us to to accept them without the huge legal liability then we may accept them on a regular basis in the future.
I think by now you should see that "saying" anything doesnt help.
we still get copyrighted music submitted to us, we still get anime music vids submitted to us, and we have said all along those are not allowed so when words become a successful tool we would use them, in the mean time we work on the system.
You make exceptions (that's the word you were reaching for) for professionals. Why?
In fact, define professional. Cause it is slick and has the wow factor? Or because they got paid?
Why make rules if you are going to have exceptions? Hang on - you state that deviantArt has made exceptions to every rule. What use are they then? Why have rules if you are going to make exceptions.
I can not believe you used the fact the name of the site is deviantArt to justify this blatant disregard. So I can now upload a porn picture and justify it by saying "our name is deviant.Art Why can't I deviate from the rules?"
Until you find a system that will allow you to accept them enmass, don't accept them. Simple as that. Do NOT make exceptions for artists you actively seek.
Do we actively seek outside photographers outside deviantArt? As far as I am aware, we do not.
We'd appreciate your understanding of the fact that the music industry is very political and complex and the future of music videos on dA is trying to be defined by a team of legal advisors, and until they do not give the go for music videos to be accepted from the deviantART artists in general, the site and its core staff might decide to, in very specific cases, showcase the work of professional/well known artists (as in both wow and get paid people). But that's their prerrogative, you will need to understand that.
We always welcome suggestions, but do not appreciate impelling. Please understand as well that the people who are working on this project are chosen for a reason and trust we know what we are doing.
Film IS different from photography. This is a new feature of deviant ART. Photography submission is NOT by invitation.
There is nothing to compare.
We have big plans for this community.
Please be patient and think there might be a whole engine working behind this project, making decisions on things you might not be aware of (nor need to be aware of for now) and like I said, trust we know what we're doing.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

I remember that was the case but must have missed an announcement or something as I am seeing a few music videos in the gallery.
