Hi guys, a little update on the purposes of this gallery forum:
This is not a fanart forum. If you're wanting to discuss your favorite comics, and characters from existing comics, it's the Fanart forum you'll be wanting to take that. Fanart Forum located here: [link]
Feedback, while it's nice to get and this seems a likely place, there is a thumbshare already made for just this purpose, with thumbnailing abilities. If you want some critiques or favs or whatever, the thumbshare is the place for that. If you are wanting to discuss techniques and other aspects of comic art, and use your own work as reference thats entirely different. The kinds of posts that do not belong here are "Look at my comic and give me feedback" kind of posts. Those kinds of posts belong in the thumbshare, with thumbnails. Thumbshare forum can be found here: [link]
I've said it before and I will say it again. THIS. IS. NOT. AN. ANIME/MANGA. FORUM. At the risk of sounding harsh here, anime manga floods everything, please leave us our one sanctuary away from it, okay? If you want to talk about your manga comics and becoming a mangaka, then take it to the appropriate forum, the anime/manga forum. Zero tolerance on anime/manga threads in this forum. Anime/manga forum can be found here: [link]
Why are these rules in place? Simple, before we got this forum I ran a poll and journal, and got feedback on a few things. The main reasons people were hesitant on getting a comics and cartoons forum was because they were worried that:
1. It would be flooded with anime threads 2. it would be a cheesy comics humbshare of "fav/read my comic PLZ" threads 3. it would be full of fan talk and independent comcis would be, yet again, ignored and/or lost
As a result of that feedback I have promised to enforce those restrictions to provide independent and web comics artists a place to discuss their work, network with others, gather people to help work on their projects and to ask questions to fellow comic artists about how to get started. This is a forum to discuss the many aspects of creating a comic, and make a social centre for the comics community on DA. Not specialize a thumbshare, not geek out anime style, or talk about fandom.
Please respect your fellow deviants.
If you have would like to report a thread, and cannot contact the Comics and cartoons Gallery Director, please hop into #MNAdmin and ask them to lock a thread.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
