For years, I drawn mostly for myself. Well, I had the hope to show my drawings and comics to a larger audience, but being aware of my level, I wasn't aiming high. Then I discovered deviantART, where millions of people could see my work! But as I discovered too, unless you are top level AND making some noise (posting on forums, commenting other's works, bringing the attention and feature of a popular deviant, etc.) you will be pretty much ignored, precisely because you are a deviant among millions... It is a bit frustrating, but then again, bringing the attention of some deviants is rewarding! And again, we are back to drawing to ourself, trying to improve, and happy to get some comments in the way.

82% of statistics in signatures are made up. (This is a recursive signature...) Spreading them is un-original and sheepish. If you agree, copy this in your... wait, no! No to signature clichés! You are on an art site, be creative!
I see you have 148 watchers, that's not bad. And 7 persons commenting on the latest page you made. That's not much compared to the number of watchers, but experience shows lot of deviants are lurkers... 121 views...

It isn't much (comments, I mean), and quite depressing, I reckon... But still, it is better than zero. Use the random deviation link a few times, and see the percentage of deviations with no comments... It is very common.

Some people do it for popularity.
I just do good for joy and for people cares.
