Look HERE--><--HERE to join the A-Discoworld-Guild, and to see the rest of the rules that don't really make sense to mention in this forum.
In this forum you are encouraged to discuss all Discworld related topics from your favorite books and characters, to different artists' interpretations of those characters, and what you think the future holds for theDiscworld. Have fun, and please be civil.
Your Guild leaders are trying their hands at forums now. The Chatroom is fun and will continue to remain active, but it lacks the convenience you get in a forum. Now, you no longer have to wait around for someone else to shows up, you can post your comments whenever you like, and they can be read at people's leisure. We hope this will be the beginning of something fun and useful for our guild members. Enjoy.
Our own guild member has recently written an online petition, that will be sent to Mr. Rod Brown, tv producer from The Mob Film Co. after September. It is in essence a request that the next book adapted to television (following Going Postal since they've already started on that one) be Guards! Guards! If you wish to show your support (I personally think it is a great idea) Here is a link to the petition: Online petition - Next Discworld Television Adaptation: Guards! Guards!
That's funny, "Guards! Guards!" is the only book of the series that I've really managed to read, they're kinda scare in my slice of the world.
Good writing, but it sounded like I should know more about the setting of the series than it showed.

In life there are challenges, first a lot of bark(ing), then a lot of pith, followed by work, all to be turned about into something to be proud of, or thrown into the fireplace.
Really? I always considered Guards Guards to be the perfect jumping on point for the series. It is the beginning of what is arguably the best of the Discworld genres, it is early in the series, but not so early that PTerry hadn't quite figured out the world yet (Unlike COM and LF, and even ER to an extent) plus it contains parody elements of very traditional fantasy books.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
