*waves hand in the air like a madwoman* Mee! I'm a club! Well, I'm *ChocoboGoddess, but I run ~daSpinners. :D

~daSpinners is for people who spin fibers into yarn. The club showcases the different yarns, as well as a few FOs (finished objects) that have been made with handspun yarn. Though we're still small, we're growing, and there are a lot of beautiful yarns on display. I welcome anyone to come check us out, and I seriously encourage you to join even if you just have an interest in spinning, no matter what your level of experience.

Currently, we're talking about creating an online glossary for the club that will help newbies and the uninitiated to understand what exactly we do.

Oh, and I have started to collect images from DA that feature spinning/spinners for our 'favorites' folder. Wool-related (as well as other fiber-related) images are also appreciated, so note me if you find one around DA!

Come take a look!

as for us... we're *TextilesAlliance - we're a medium-based club, showcasing all things made from textiles, be that clothing, costumes, art, dolls or miscilanious objects, as long as it's made from cotton, wool, denim, silk, rayon, nylon, satin, felt, polyster or such....

we mainly showcase our members' work, and we have projects - no competitions as yet - here's a question for other admins - how do you persuede people to donate prizes, and how to you judge competitions?

our current project is our butterfly project - check it out and join in!

we have over 130 members, and 4 admins, plus our lovelly founder :devSharazadStrange:

we also like to affiliate with other textiles-related clubs.

*ArtisanCraft is a club for all artisans from beginners to advanced, any media. The purpose of this club/community is to showcase our work, put more spotlight in Artisan Crafts and it's artisans on dA. To share tips and thoughts - to improve our skills and creativity and to get to know each other better.

We feature our members by collages and interviews, we feature Artisan Crafts deviations weekly. We have an 'Exchange corner' where members can list deviations they can consider trading. We have a chat, we feature our affillite clubs in collages, contests and more.

We are 374 members at the moment and are constantly growing. The club is soon celebrating it's one year-birthday :w00t:

Welcome to check us out!

To answer your question on contest, this is how I've done in the two previous contests the club has arranged.

The judging has been done by members by sending in a note with their votes on their top 3 entries. I don't want to do that by poll, since I only want members to vote, and since it has been more entries than selections in a poll.

For prize donation I've always been blown away with the generosity people have shown. I can't imagine there's anything I've done to presuede them, but in both contest I've always donated a prize myself and asked kindly if there are anyone else interested in donating just to contact me.

Cheers!

We are!

Brand new club here. Just about a month old. We're into quilts and quilting. I would say we're a medium based club mostly because all of the submissions (so far) have been traditional quilts.

Because we're so brand new, we haven't had any contets, projects, etc. so right how it's showcasing members' works. So far we have about 15 members and a couple of affiliates.

EtsySellers - for those who sell, or are looking to set up a shop on Etsy.com, we accept all mediums as long as there handmade, as in conjunction with the sites t&c's.

The only competition I've run so far was for a club i.d, I do have to say the response was a little lacking, but we are getting there with club participation from our members.

We only showcase actual sellers work, though I encourage those who don't sell to still join, then they can learn from current, active sellers. I try to keep the group up to date with site updates, etsy.com competitions.

I hope this year to do our first proper competition, to get the members more involved with pushing the club further and to introduce members.
