WWII gear replica making help

Hey guys. I'm trying to make my own American WWII soldier getup for under $100. (I would order an authentic kit, but $80 for some 60 year old pants is a little.... extreme.)

So far, I've gotten the helmet, and I have a helmet net on the way in the mail, along with some Corporal patches. All I need now would be a proper set of boots, some brown jeans and the jacket.

First off: Where do I get the boots? I've searched freaking EVERYWHERE, and I cannot find them D:

Also: Will brown jeans even work? What would work as a cheaper substitute?
