I'm a massive Southampton fan, and yesterday was apparantly supposed to be the most miserable day in Southampton's history. However, thanks to Stern John and Stoke City it wasn't to be, and we shall be playing Championship football next season. Commiserations to Leicester fans but you'll do fine next year I'm sure.

I'd expect Leicester to come back up at the first attempt, but Forest didn't so I dunno.

I just wonder if Holloway had stayed at Argyle, whether he'd be manager of a team in the play-offs right now.

Although not a fan, I keep an eye on Saints as it is local to my home town and I have been to St Marys on several occations having a few friends who are season ticket holders. (even been to the dell once, many moons ago).

They were lucky to be honest, it is never nice to have to rely on another team to decide your fate. Lets hope they wake up and smell the premeirship someday in the future again.

Southampton have been very lucky this season and need serious improvement if they're going to seriously compete in this division next season.

As for Leicester, a season in league one and consolidation will be just what the doctor ordered, of course they might come straight back up but it isn't easy, just ask Forest, Crewe, Huddersfield, Tranmere or Bristol City.
